Chocoholic 08-13-2004, 11:42 AM How sad. I always enjoyed watching her when I was little. :(
Rest in peace, Julia. I can't wait to meet you up in Heaven where you can cook me up something good :D
She definitely lived a full, rich life. Rest in peace.

Well, it was posted that Fay Wray died between Rick & Julia, so could Julia be #3?

musicradio77 08-13-2004, 10:50 PM Julia Child will be remembered as the best cooker in history and she is surely missed. I love cooking the Julia Child way. RIP Julia:crying:
Julia Child will be missed. She was a good cook and she inspired a lot of people. "The Swedish Chef" from "The Muppet Show" was created in her honor.
My absolute favorite Julia Child moment was when SCTV did a skit featuring Julia taking on Mr. Rogers (played by Martin Short) in an intense no-holds-barred boxing match which was very, very funny.
I wonder who won?
Moondance 08-16-2004, 07:12 PM I remember when they used her show in the movie "The Money Pit!" That was a funny scene, too.
:(- Julia lived a long life.

Before there was a food network, there was Julia Child.

:(
I watched a recorded clip the other day of an interview with Julia Childs. I think it was Larry King who was interviewing her but I''m not sure. No matter. The interviewer asked her what one of her favorite dishes was. She answered honestly and, ironically, in my opinion, "Potatoes with lots of butter". The interviewer seemed to think that she must have misundersood the question. I mean, Julia Childs has told us hundreds of dishes and how to go about fixing them in more interesting or special ways. Yet, When she was asked, the second time, to clarify her answer, she again said that her favorite dish was, "Potatoes... with lots of butter on top."
My kind of gal. ;)
RIP, Julia Childs
