I need any episode from the show's first season (the season before ABBY DALTON, JOE BESSER, MARY TREEN,etc). Marlo Thomas & Warren Berlinger were regulars. Looking to buy or trade.

The Joey Bishop Show DVD collection of the 2nd season contains the pilot ep, which I assume is the original pilot and would be in B&W w/ the original cast. Joey is said to have hated the 1st season format (and perhaps some of the cast) and has since forbidden its syndication, but this pilot would be a change from his direction here.

According to another website, the Danny Thomas estate owns this show. Between Joey Bishop not liking the format of the first season and Marlo Thomas not wanting her "pre nose job" appearances released, the chances of the first season ever being shown again or commercially released are non existent.

I didn't know about the nose job situation. I have recently unearthed one episode from that 1st season (with guest star Barbara Stanwyck - episode #3) with original commercials. IT IS a VERY DIFFERENT SHOW!!! The only commonality is Bishop's character's name, Joey Barnes.

Where did you unearth this one? Is anyone trading it? Please let us know. Thanks.

...privately {"The Income Tax Caper"}. It's funny, but Joey may have been right in keeping the entire first season out of circulation. Too many people are crowding Joey on screen!

Yes, the first season was rather busy and over-laden with co-stars.
I have unearthed 5 of the episodes from that first season.
Others are always welcome. I have MOST of the episodes from seasons
3 and 4 (missing only about 5), and all of the 2nd season (dvd set).

I actually like the first season better. For one thing, you have Marlo Thomas, Joe Flynn and Madge Blake, all familiar TV faces. After that the show becomes a rehash of the Make Room for Daddy format.
