The one quote that made me laugh hard was in episode #28 "The Slumber Caper"

Carol: The boys didn't do a good job airing out the sleeping bags. Maybe we should hang them up and beat them.

Mike: The sleepingbags or the boys?

Hey Guys,

One of my favorite funny quotes is Mike's long speech about how he buys all that food for the big family party and the date keeps changing because guests can't come due to conflicts. They think they have the date of the 10th all worked out, but it conflicts with Cindy's apperence on the "Question The Kids Show." An exasperated Mike proclaimes: (Taken From- "You Can't Win E'm All":)

"You know....I don't beleive this! First we're going to have a few friends over...barbaque steaks. Then we switch to a Mexican dinner so we can invite more people, and I run all over town in search of authentic Mexican food. But than we switch to a smorgishboard so we can invite friends, and friends of friends, and relatives and assorted drop ins! And NOW, I have got enough Mexican food, to feed every guitar player in Guadalajara! AND I'VE CORNERED THE MARKET ON HAREING!!!! AND NOW... I FIND OUT THAT WE ARE HAVING A PARTY FOR 26 PEOPLE ON THE 10TH, AND THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO AREN'T GOING TO BE HERE, ARE US!!"

Me, too -- Robert Reed's excellent, exasperated delivery of those lines just clinched it.

The more I watch the Bradys, the more I appreciate Reed. He came across as one of the more believable fathers on TV, he had nice chemistry with Florence Henderson, and he could deliver the comedy when needed (although that wasn't very often).

I also enjoyed him in the kitchen helping Marcia cook, getting frustrated as he dropped things, made messes, and fell.

I, too, enjoyed Mike's soliloquy as the party menu kept changing.
A tour de force for Robert Reed! :)

Another quote that has always made me laugh is from "Today I Am a Freshman", and Marcia is standing on her head practicing for the Yoga Club. Mike asks her if she's doing too much: "I mean, the Archery Club, the Yoga Club, the Scuba Club and now the Westdale Busters..."

Marcia: "Boosters."

Another one that makes me laugh is when Alice is jumping on the trampoline and Mike says something like "That measured 4.5 on the Richter scale."

He almost mumbles it so it is easy to miss. I'm not even sure of the exact words because it's so hard to hear. He says it right before she jumps into his arms.

I just saw this episode again (on tape). Mike actually says, "That's point 5-4 on the Richter scale." Point 5-4 would not even be felt, would it? I wonder if he was supposed to say 5.4

Wow -- Mike was basically calling Alice fat! That's considered hostile work environment these days, and Alice would have grounds to sue!

I always laughed when Greg tells Mike that he "gilded the lilly" a little bit, when trying to sell his lemon of a car. And then proceeds to hold his stomach in a belly laugh. Mike gives that look, and then swats him with the newspaper.

Another one is at the end of the Slumber Party Caper, where Mike has a bucket fall on top his head, and the boys say their sorry. As he shakes his finger at the boys, the white powder starts falling off his head.

And lastly, when Carol has "Tomorrow's Woman" magazine stop by, and she's expecting them at 4, but they come at 3 and she is not ready. I always laugh when the photographer takes her picture, while she is not expecting it.

Guess these 3 scenes would qualify as the ones I will always laugh to whenever I see them.

Those were funny.

Carol should have yelled "SHUT UP ALICE" when she kept interrupting her on the phone.

(In "Father of the year" -)

JAN: Do you know who has the biggest mouth in the whole wide world next to you?

CINDY: Who?

JAN: NOBODY!!!!

(When Cousin Emma inspected the girls room for dust)

EMMA: Dust girls, get rid of it. (She exits)

JAN: Why don't we keep the dust and get rid of her?

MARCIA: Uncle Sam had her, why couldn't he keep her?

(When the family goes to Kings Island)

ALICE: Stop the park, I want to get off!

Hands down the funniest Mike quote came from the JAN BRADY MOST POPULAR GIRL episode. Carol walks in Mike's den wearing her new western ensemble for their upcoming weekend vacation to a dude ranch. She asks Mike what he'll be wearing. He replies, "Oh I don't know, maybe my cowboy boots..."

Carol replies (with her best John Wayne impression): "Well ya better wear somethin' else or you're gonna get arrested!"

Mike's LMAO reply: "Not to mention sunburn!!!"

I also like when Peter is dressing up for a party he thinks his parents are going to have for him, and Bobby asks him why he's dressing up. Peter says "When you get my age, you go through sort of a neatness period" and Bobby replies, "I hope that doesn't happen to me."

I cant remember accurate quotes, but i can say that the 2 funniest episodes to me were when Greg buys a lemon for a car,and the final ep,where Greg buys that hair formula off Bobby and it turns his hair orange.
Oh,and i love it when Greg said,"Not sunglasses,shades".

Someone mentioned a line from the episode "Today I am a freshman". While Marcia was standing on her head and asked her parents if she could have a few classmates over for a meeting Mike responds " Sure but i can imagine the whole group standing on their heads" :D

From The Christmas Voice:

Greg: Now don't let the girls catch you hiding these.
Bobby: If they catch me, should I eat the present?
Peter: Eat it! (to Greg) He's been watching too many of those spy programs!

From 54-40 Fight:

Cindy: Me First!
Bobby: Why You?
Cindy: 'cause I'm a lady
Bobby: Aaaaahhh
Cindy: I'm am a lady. If you say I'm not, I'll bop you!

How about these, from "A Clubhouse Is Not A Home":

Greg: "You call this sharing a bathroom? I call it sharing a beauty parlor!"

Marcia: "Men... you all want your women to look beautiful but you're unwilling to cooperate!"

Greg: "Oh I'll cooperate all right and I'll throw this stuff right out the window!"

Marcia: "You do and you'll go right out after it!"

Greg: "Oh yeah?"

Marcia: "Yeah"

and

Bobby: "You better take that outfit off by the time I count to three or I'll scalp you!"

Cindy: "I bet you can't even count to three!"

Speaking of the Hawaii vacation, one of my favorite guest appearances of the series was Vincent Price as Professor Whitehead... his part couldn't have been cast any better! One of my favorite LOL bits of dialogue was this exchange when he caught Greg, Peter and Bobby in the cave, believing they were trying to pilfer his "treasure":

Professor Whitehead: "You found the find that I didn't find!"

Bobby: "Honest, mister. We didn't find the found that you didn't... uh, find..."

From the "Quarterback Sneak" episode: new boyfriend/football rival Jerry Rogers drives Marcia home from school and is invited inside for a cold drink. She introduces him to Bobby and Cindy, who are playing on the teeter-totter in the backyard. Cindy says, "you're right, Marcia, he IS gorgeous!" On the other hand, Bobby tells Jerry, "I hope West Dale whips the pants off you guys!" After Marcia and Jerry go inside, Cindy tells Bobby that "all you boys ever think about is football... LOVE is more important!"

Bobby's classic response (which prompts Cindy to bail from the teeter-totter and slam him down to the ground): "How do you know? You've never played either one!"

I like when Jan goes to the drug store to see if she can find something to take care of her freckles...she tells the pharmacist it's for a 'friend'...

The pharmacist says, "So, these freckles, they're making things pretty tough on your 'friend'"?

Jan replies "They're ruining her LIFE!"

What drama!

The other one that's great is when she goes to buy the wig...

Jan: I'm looking for something crazy...kind of like the wig YOU'RE wearing!

M.Wallace: That's...my own hair

Jan: Oh, I'm sorry

M. Wallace: not half as sorry as I am

Later:

Clerk (Marcia Wallace): This one's (wig's) called "Midnight Temptress"

Jan says, "Thanks, but I don't think I'll be up that late"

Jan was so funny in those scenes.

But don't think I'm obsessed with her, 'cause I'm not

Wow -- Mike was basically calling Alice fat! That's considered hostile work environment these days, and Alice would have grounds to sue!

Even better than that was another foot-in-the-mouth moment where Mike makes a comment that takes a dig at Alice's physical appearance:

Greg wakes everyone up while lifting weights in the family room. Mike, Carol and Alice ask him to keep the noise down, and Alice comments that she can't afford to lose any precious moments of her beauty sleep. Mike then responds, "She's right!", then realizes his faux pas.

I don't remember the episode, but I think it was in Season Three, where Greg, Peter, and Bobby are in the boys bedroom, and Bobby says something stupid, and Peter calls Bobby "a loser."

When I watched Peter call him a loser on DVD, I nearly fell off the couch! I don't think they ever aired that little exchange - at least that I remember. The word "loser" seems so unBradylike.

These aren't lines per se, but IMO a few of the funniest moments from the series:

Love and the Older Man: Bobby & Cindy appear as Marcia & Dr. Dentist's kiddies w/ goofy accents.

Getting Greg's Goat: The whole farce that begins when Greg & the goat end up in the closet, the asst. principal rolls his eyes, the goat ends up in the closet w/ Mrs. Gould (Sandra Gould, acting very Gladys Kravitzesque), and doors slam all around. That was about the best out-and-out farce in the series.

The Hare-Brained Scheme: Greg lets out a funny squeal when Peter laughs at his orange hair.

...when Greg pops into the kitchen for breakfast...

"Hey Mike..... Carol"

Not sure if those are "exact words" (pun intended), but along those lines. I suppose it was "groovy" to address your parents by their first name.

Also, when Peter was cheering on Bobby during the chin-up contest, he received a glare from Greg. When it was Greg's turn, Peter gave him the same inspiration. At that point, it was Bobby's turn to administer the scowl.

Not sure why, but it I thought it funny. A timing thing, I guess...

Man, we never knew anyone that woul dare call their parents by their first names...

Yeah, that chin-up scene was good... Didn't Peter kind of 'wink' at Greg, then at Bobby, when he (Pete) was cheering the other one on, as if to say, "hey, I'm really on YOUR side here, I'm just saying that to be nice".

Here are more:

CAROL: "Alice, how come we buy the same things every week?"

ALICE: " I think it's because we got the same kids every week!"

From "Getting Greg's Goat" (as Rachel runs by with the kids trying to catch her.)

Alice: "Now, that's the second goat I've seen today!"

Somebody help me please!

I'm trying to find this one quote that cracked me up in "Quarterback Sneak". It was when the girls were fighting with the boys about how it's ok for Marcia to date that quarterback from Fairview High (rivals of Greg) because...

something about how Football only lasts a few hours but romance lasts a month??

I can't figure out what exactly it was! I think Jan said it and walked off and then Cindy said "AT LEAST!"

I can't remember the exact dialogue, but after Marcia stormed out of the girls' room (after being called a traitor by Peter), it went something like this:

Jan: Peter, how can you compare a romance to football?

Peter: You can't... football's important!

Jan: Peter, a football game only lasts an hour...a romance can last (pause) a whole MONTH! (Jan storms out of the room)

Cindy: (throws her arms in the air) : at LEAST! (storms out of room)

I don't know if Jan actually says "an hour" in that line, but that's the gist of it...

Here's one bright spot from an episode I otherwise despise with a passion (the one with Marcia falling for dentist Dr. Vogel):

Mike comes home from work and Carol greets him with a phone message.

Carol (in a breathy, sexy voice): "Tell Mr. Brady he has an appointment, tomorrow..."

Mike starts to break into a smile.

Carol: "with the dentist!" (sticks her tongue out)

Wow -- Mike was basically calling Alice fat! That's considered hostile work environment these days, and Alice would have grounds to sue!

I was thinking about this yesterday, on account of a commercial for GEICO I heard on the radio within the last year, in which a guy says "Hey pretty lady, my name's Rick and on the Rick-ter scale, you're an 11!" followed by a quieter "Pow." (as if to indicate a knuckle sandwich). This was a commercial directed to people who were stuck in the 1970s ("Survive the seventies?" asks the host); "Rick" had an earlier quote of "My name's Rick, and my friends call me the Disco Wizard!".
