View Full Version : Jeeves and Wooster miker 08-12-2004, 02:08 AM I am a great fan of this series and am always wondering what has become of the supporting actors and actress that appeared in the series. Anyone have any good news? Steve's Roadhouse 08-13-2004, 01:39 PM Miker, I agree with you. Perhaps a lot of people don't think of these programs as sitcoms because they are adaptions of old Wodehouse stories. Of course, situation comedies is exactly what they are. They are very well made with great casts. I first saw Fry and Laurie (in North America) on the Blackadder series (II to be exact). They also had their own skit comedy show (Fry and Laurie). They've appeared in several movies including Peter's Friends (both), Oscar Wide (Fry starred) and Sense and Sensibilty (Laurie). None of that info is very recent. I'm sure someone in the UK could tell you more. Stephen Fry has also written several novels, one of which I've read (The Liar), and are available everywhere. Mickey 08-13-2004, 01:40 PM Robert Dawes hasn't been out of work since. A lot of the others have done bit parts here and there, but have probably mostly done theatre work. If you're a fan of Jeeves And Wooster though (assuming you mean the Fry and Laurie version?) look out for their forthcoming Sherlock Holmes. It hasn't started filming yet, but it does look like it's now been commissioned. Fry as Holmes and Laurie as Watson - should be worth a look! :) miker 08-13-2004, 03:41 PM I hadn't heard about the Sherlock Holmes movie. I can't waite to see it. Yes the Fry and Laurie version is the one of which I speek. I have always thought that Francesca Folan as the last Lady Florence Craye really found her niche. And of course Robert Daws as Tuppy Glossop was always fantastic. I was justt watching episode 4 last night (I think) Bertie has everyone lay off dinner. Daws was fantastic. Although this is oneof the episodes where Folan played Madeline Bassett . She was fine in that role and some think she was the best Madeline Bassett ...however she really was awsome as Lady Florence. I am glad to see there are some more fans out their. My wife got me started on this series when we were dating and now I cant get enough. Mickey 08-14-2004, 01:56 PM Beautifully captures the atmosphere of the books, doesn't it! __________________ 46664 - Play Music - Fight AIDS (http://www.46664.com) miker 09-14-2004, 05:20 AM Yes it does.
