...when they say, on the promos for "The Dick Van Dyke show reviseted" that the idea was first mentioned on the 2003 "TV LAND awards".
I remember reading about it first in a little paragraph in the newspaper, back about 77 or 78. It said they were thinking about doing a reunion of DVD "someday". Then I remember reading an interview with Carl Reiner talking about the show, back around 1990 (this was when N@N first started showing it) and the interviewer asked him if they were ever going to do a reunion, and Carl said no, that they were thinking about it for a while, but decided against it, because chances are they wouldn't have the same "chemistry" between everyone.
Then, one night in 1993, Dick was on Larry King, when Carl called in and said they've decided to do one, but they were going to wait until Dicks current show (he was doing "Diagnosis: Murder" at the time) had ended.

I think that the point they are trying to make, and a true point at that, is that the "Dick Van Dyke" reunion was, in fact, really put into motion by the TVLand Awards.
