I know many of us have shows like Three's Company, Cheers, Friends, The Simpsons and the sort in our DVD collections... series that were tailor-made for the tv-on-dvd format once it took off.
But are there any tv shows out there that somehow made it to DVD that you bought, even if it isn't exactly well-known? If so, what are they?
For me, it's definately the obscure and ill-fated Pink Lady And Jeff.... late 70's/early 80's camp at it's best. A variety show from 1980 hosted by Japanese pop sensation Pink Lady (think Abba, but Japanese) and stand-up comic Jeff Altman. A variety show which actually had some great musical guests (Blondie, Cheap Trick, Teddy Pendergrass when he could still walk), and tons of outrageously bad music sequences featuring Pink Lady, who didn't understand a word of English and it showed when they talked. Only lasting 6 episodes (5 aired on NBC and the 6th was lost for over 20 years). I caught episodes on Trio during "Flops Month" that got my attention, and then I found the set on ebay for all of $8, so I got it. Pure campy disco trash, but if you like that, you'll love the show and cherish it for all you paid for it.
