I know many of us have shows like Three's Company, Cheers, Friends, The Simpsons and the sort in our DVD collections... series that were tailor-made for the tv-on-dvd format once it took off.

But are there any tv shows out there that somehow made it to DVD that you bought, even if it isn't exactly well-known? If so, what are they?

For me, it's definately the obscure and ill-fated Pink Lady And Jeff.... late 70's/early 80's camp at it's best. A variety show from 1980 hosted by Japanese pop sensation Pink Lady (think Abba, but Japanese) and stand-up comic Jeff Altman. A variety show which actually had some great musical guests (Blondie, Cheap Trick, Teddy Pendergrass when he could still walk), and tons of outrageously bad music sequences featuring Pink Lady, who didn't understand a word of English and it showed when they talked. Only lasting 6 episodes (5 aired on NBC and the 6th was lost for over 20 years). I caught episodes on Trio during "Flops Month" that got my attention, and then I found the set on ebay for all of $8, so I got it. Pure campy disco trash, but if you like that, you'll love the show and cherish it for all you paid for it.

Most of the shows I have are pretty well known. Even Schoolhouse Rock and Fat Albert. I would have to pick a movie as the most obscure tv-dvd in my collection. Coach of The Year, a (1980 CBS?) movie starring Robert Conrad as a parapelegic coaching a boys football team at a sort of teen detention center. I got the dvd for $3.99.

I actually have all of those....
But as for the question....

Mr. Bill's Disasterpiece Theater - Definitive Collection
Mr. Bill is hardly an unknown character, but this set is my most obscure. With a collection of every SNL appearance (I believe) along with specials like "Mr. Bill Goes To Vegas" and "Mr. Bill's Christmas Special". In addition to his 20th Anniversary special, and many special features. I noticed a coincidence though, my most obscure TVDVD -- is also my least favorite (although I still like it).

I guess "Street Fighter." It was a two season animated series on USA back in the mid 1990s. I watched it when it was new and was excited to see it on DVD. However, I'm not sure how many people even know about the show or it's DVD release.

Pink Lady rocks !!!

The best part are the exceptionally cheesy Abba-Mamma Mia-ish style videos midway through each episode. Jeff Altman sucks as a comedian, but whenever Mie and Kei entered the screen, they were fantastic

lol...I dunno. I guess it would be a 2-episode pack of old B&W Dragnet eps.

I have two "Very Rare" episodes of Barney Miller, that were rarely seen on TV Land, because they were banned for having a bomb theme; I also have an episode of Hawaii Five-0 episode that is never aired as well....
