Craig Kilborn returned to co anchor Sportscenter tonight, for one night only special.

It was weird to see him back. Does anyone think since Viacom owns both Comedy Central and CBS, that Kilborn would ever be a guest on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart?

I doubt it. He hasn't been a guest in the five and a half years since Stewart took over the show (thank God). I think Kilborn has some bitter feelings about his Daily Show experience.

The show is so much better with Stewart. When the Daily Show started it was low budget show. It got B level celebirties.

Fast forward to today, not only does it get the A list celebirties. But also key political figures.

Thank god CBS screwed up, and did not give Stewart the Late Late show, which most people thought they would do, who by the way was Tom Snyder's choice to replace him.

Yes. I do remember that Craig started working as a sportscaster for KCBA-TV FOX 35 in which is now joined with KION-TV CBS 46 in Salinas-Monterey, CA from 1987-1990. Now that he is real famous for the Daily Show from 1991-98 and Late Late show 1999-present, He is a true legend.

The Daily Show didn't start until 1996.

Kilborn is definately NOT a legend.

Carson -- legend.
Leno and Letterman -- legends.
Even Conan and Stewart are legends.... but not Kilborn.

It is possible that if Stewart got his own late night show it wouldnt be such a bad thing, if they just moved Colbert up to host, afterall, the funniest parts are the segments they do.

though I would definately prefer that The Daily Show holds onto Stewart, and i think they will

The thing is.... will Jon Stewart hold on to The Daily Show.
There's no way in hell Comedy Central would want him to leave.
And it seems like he likes it that way.
