I just contacted Russell Johnson about information on season two, and someone responded for him saying that he will provide commentaries for the second season's release, but he does not know when it will become available.

All right! Thank you, algebra. So we might not know a release date, but we do know that it'll have at least two commentaries from Russell. (Because it was plural.)

I have contacted Bob Denver and Russell Johnson. Bob Denver has yet to repond, and I do not know how to get a hold of any of the other cast members.

Season 2 of Gilligan's Island is slated for January 2005. More details will be coming soon.

A lot of these stars have websites and with a litle detective work you can contact them. Thank you for taking the time and effort to track down Mr. Johnson & his representatives.

Good news about the January release date also.

pavanbadal's blurb came from the Bob Denver home page. It's now been reported on the tvshowsondvd.com site.

It would great to here cast commentaries on these episodes after all these years. Maybe they'll get three of them to do a couple each. I've really enjoyed rewatching Season one and look forward to more.

I sure hope Russell Johnson and whoever else from GI does an audio commentary on the season 2 dvd has a a diary or journal to look back on as it is hard from memory alone to do an accurate recollection of over 30 years ago.

It'll be a great way to start the new year, that's for sure. If the prints are as good as the season 1 episodes we are in for a treat. The colours will be striking and vibrant no doubt. And uncut. The shows shown here are edited with up to 5 minutes missing. Can't wait.

I went to TVShowsonDVD.com (http://tvshowsondvd.com) and looked at their Jan. 2005 release schedule, and GI Season 2 isn't on it.

I hope they haven't postponed it or anything.

The reason you couldn'tfind it is that the studio hasn't yet officially announced the release yet. The only reason we know about it is because Bob Denver put a blurb on his home page.

Once the studio makes an official annoucement it will be placed on the tvshowsondvd.com website. Release dates change all the time so there's no need for that site to publish a release date that hasn't been confirmed.
