View Full Version : Shows That Had Good Final Seasons?? barwars 08-07-2004, 10:18 AM Frasier Cheers Seinfeld Three's Company Boy Meets World and The Dick Van Dyke Show mstewart 08-07-2004, 10:34 AM Family Ties All In the Family (The final season with the Rob Reiner and Sally Struthers rebounded well after a lame 7th season) The Dick Van Dyke Show - Even though you can see the shark jumping slowly. peter may 08-07-2004, 10:45 AM i thought wings also had a good last season, despite what anyone else says spunkygirl 08-07-2004, 10:58 AM Boy Meets World Wings Who's the Boss?(despite what anyone else says) I guess I'm the type who likes the later seasons of shows more.....:) spunkygirl 08-07-2004, 10:58 AM Originally posted by peter may i thought wings also had a good last season, despite what anyone else says  it sure did :D EmoJoe 08-07-2004, 10:59 AM Who's the Boss? I Dream of Jeannie (depsite what anyone else says) JT 08-07-2004, 01:53 PM "Mama's Family" had a great last season. James 08-07-2004, 03:49 PM Coach and Leave It To Beaver had good final seasons IMHO. I am Roboto 08-07-2004, 06:13 PM Cheers Frasier Wings Three's Company Becker combsisthebest 08-07-2004, 07:28 PM Mama's Family The Cosby Show (even though most people here don't like it) EmoJoe 08-07-2004, 07:30 PM Originally posted by combsisthebest Mama's Family The Cosby Show (even though most people here don't like it) IMO The Cosby Show went downhill somewhere around Seasons 5-6. gOoSe 08-08-2004, 12:41 AM boy meets world - the first couple of episodes weren't good and changing the plot "angela's men" from being an episode dealing with racism-type issues to what it was...noo BUT! once the two got married all the plots were really good IMO, and those episodes proved that THAT was when they officially became adults, not when they graduated high school... let's get real being 18 and in college doesnt make you an adult.. flash forward- i know it only lasted 20 episodes and i know they were supposed to make more but money came into focus HOWEVER the last episode, which they didnt realize would be the final episode (i think they didnt) was a great end to the series if you look back at it three's company had a nice ending but too bad it wasnt jack and janet getting married lol Kristen 08-08-2004, 02:33 AM The Mary Tyler Moore Show Wings The Dick Van Dyke Show Classic TV Fanatic 08-08-2004, 02:26 PM I Love Lucy The Mary Tyler Moore Show The Wonder Years The Modfather 08-08-2004, 04:44 PM HAPPY DAYS Seinfeld Cheers Wonder years Three's Company Boy Meets World Coach I Dream Of Jeannie, and many more. Moonlit_Suburb 08-08-2004, 09:17 PM 3rd Rock from the Sun: IMO, the 5th and final season of 3rd Rock was the best/funniest of the whole series. Even Stevens: The 3rd and final season was the best/funniest. Unfortunately, since this is a Disney Channel show, it was cancelled after 65 episodes, as is their policy. (child actors grow up fast...Christy Carlson Romano's character, Ren, was in 8th grade at the end of the series, but in real life, she was 18) A popular, high-rated show...too bad it had to end so soon. :-/ dawsongirl 08-09-2004, 01:36 AM Originally posted by Moonlit_Suburb Unfortunately, since this is a Disney Channel show, it was cancelled after 65 episodes, as is their policy. They have a policy like that? How odd. spunkygirl 08-09-2004, 01:41 AM Originally posted by dawsongirl They have a policy like that? How odd. Yep they sure do, that's why Lizzie Maguire and Even Stevens were both cancelled after 65 episodes, That's So Raven will be too. dawsongirl 08-09-2004, 01:44 AM I Dream of Jeannie- I liked Tony and Jeannie married. The Nanny- ^same with Max and Fran The Incredible Hulk- You really couldn't tell season 1 from season 5, so it was all good. My Favorite Martian- ^same. Plus it was in color! Futurama- Awesome. Just Awesome. Adam-12- There were a couple season 8 eps that were just great. X-Force is probably the greatest ep of the series. The Odd Couple- still funny. Plus they did an ep with Richard Dawson. :D The Monkees- It was only on 2 years...how bad could it have gotten? I mean, I don't like any of the aforementioned shows, but I almost wonder if Disney now wishes they could've taken that back after seeing how big Hilary Duff has gotten in the past year... and they let her go. Why kill off a show while it's hot when they could Friends/Frasier/Simpsons out it's run. Not saying I could see a 27 year old Raven-Symone still doing That's So Raven, but still, 65 episodes is pretty short if the show has a real following. spunkygirl 08-12-2004, 03:31 PM Originally posted by BuffySlayer79 why not keep a show going as long as it's hot? I know I bet they are kicking them selves now for sure, and Shia LeBeauf is making a name for himself too. I don't understand why they do it either, I guess they figure once they get past 17 that's too old or something  barwars 08-12-2004, 03:31 PM There was rumors that both Even Stevens and Lizzie McGuire were going to end their 65 Episode deal on Disney, and then move over to TGIF on ABC. I'm not sure about Even Stevens.... but the Lizzie McGuire rumor turned out to be true, but when Hillary Duff demanded more money per episode, the whole deal was scrapped. |
