just thinking about shows that are overplayed due mainly to cable reruns are there any shows you used to like but now your sick of i can think of two off the top of my head my pick is andy griffth its on morning noon and night where i live as a kid i loved it and im still a fan but does it have to be on so much my mothers pick is law and order she and i both love the show but its on all the time are there any shows that your sick of seeing in reruns over and over and over?

The Nanny: it was overplayed on this one cable channel I used to get. I've seen every single episode - probably more than once.

I go through Seinfeld phases - sometimes I'm really into it, sometimes I can't take it anymore because it's so overplayed. Right now I'm in the phase where I want to watch it every day.

Seinfeld, The Cosby Show, and pretty soon The Fresh Prince cause it will be overplayed on N@N :rolleyes:

I DO think that The Cosby Show was overplayed (not any more).... but I never got sick of it.

As for Seinfeld.... it can't air enough.

Fresh Prince is going to be on N@N? They need to stop playing so many relatively new shows that are still on other channels


That 70's Show is on twice a day on the Fox Station here, and it got a bit out done

yep Sept. 13th I think. N@N is about modern tv classics now, to me FP isn't relatively new, relatively new to me would be last 5 years or so :)

It'll only be airing on N@N starting in Sept. but N@N is gonna be overplaying it ALOT :(

to me, "relatively new" means "ended less than 10 years ago". I like Roseanne for example, but I still think it's a few years too soon for N@N.

I mean, back in the day, Nick was shows that ended 15-18 years earlier. Now it's down to 5-6

That's what TVLAND is for though. It's the "classic tv network"(or at least it's supposed to be ;) )

Full House. I used to watch it a lot a few years ago. And then suddenly I realized it really is not very good, in my opinion.

On the other hand, I can handle watching four episodes of Friends a night for days on end. Crazy.

Friends - without a doubt, I like it but it is rerun to death, well here in the UK anyways.

well, when a show is in it's 16th season, it's certainly peaked. I admit the "classic to just okay episode" ratio isn't what it used to be, but they still knock ones out of the ballpark frequently.

The Simpsons has taken a dip in quality..... but is in no way bad. I say the series peaked at Season 6. Although.... with no signs of slowing down, a new peak may come....

"The Mary Tyler Moore show"-it's a good show, don't get me wrong, but when it was on N@N I liked it, but they showed it so many times I just got so tired of it! Same when TV LAND aired it.

MASH-not the entire series, just the last 3 seasons, after Radar left. Too many times, it was like, "oh, we're doctors, and we're so good, and we're so this, and we're so that, and death is such a bummer!" I mean, GIVE ME A BREAK, ALREADY!!!!

"Friends" and "Seinfeld."

Not that I'm sick of them, but I've watched them so religiously in the past that I'm kind of burnt out on them. I have days where I'm in the mood to watch an episode of either, but for the most part I've retired them temporarily. I love them both too much to get completely over them.

I used to feel this way about The Cosby Show but now that N@N doesn't show it as much, I like it again.

I loved Friends when it aired, but then in hindsight, I've realized just how the show drug on way way way too long and how babies born were in college during the time of all the damn "will they/won't they/will they break up/will they get back together/etc..." Ross And Rachel nonsense. And IMO, besides a few episodes, the show really didn't have that much repeat value once you've figured out the structure for each episode.

There were a few great seasons of the show, but it certainly lasted waaaaaaaaaay too long and it definately isn't in the same league as a sitcom like "Seinfeld". It was total comfort food in the last 3 or 4 seasons and the audience was beyond annoying with their laughter at the end of every line. Ross could say "I found out I have cancer and have two months to live" and the audience would start laughing.

I finally lost my last shred of interest in ER last season. All my favorite characters were gone and I had absolutely no interest in the ones that remained. The plots were becoming repetitive and just plain stupid. The chopper that took out Romano needs to come back and take out the rest of the hospital.

I was a huge fan of Everybody Loves Raymond in its early years, but I cringe at the thought of it now. All the episodes are basically the same asinine plots and jokes used over and over again. I don't know how it got so many awards nominations. I'd rather see a good show like Scrubs get some of the praise and attention that Raymond got.
