The actress who portrays Cindy gets on all my nerves http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/mad.gif. She isn't attractive http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/mad.gif. She isn't even a good actress http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/mad.gif.

I hate Cindy too! Terry is the worst and Chrissy is the absoulute best ever!

Yes, Chrissy Snow is the all time best. Suzanne Sommers is the prettiest out of all the girl roomates. Didn't you find it kind of funny when Jack Tripper introduce himself as Jack Tripper he tripped on the wet floor when he stepped out of the bathtub when he met Janet and Chrissy for the first time?

I totally disagree about Cindy. I liked Cindy. She was attractive and she was a cutie pie. She was funny too. Chrissy got on my nerves in later years. She just got dumber and dumber. She was funny though.

Thomas,

I totally disagree!

Cindy was a complete failer to THREE'S COMPANY. I cannot believe Cindy didn't sink the entire sitcom. I couldn't wait until they got rid of Cindy! Yuck! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/mad.gif

I really didn't notice. Cindy blended in fine to me.

I agree that Cindy was the worst blonde roommate ever. She was a big klutz and wasn't funny. She was pretty and nice but she was clumbsy. Her cousin Chrissy made the best blonde roommate.

I totally disagree with all of you guys except for ThomasE. Cindy was the best blode roommate. Unlike her cousin Chrissy, she had brains and used them. Cindy was so funny with Jack and the ironing board! I hated Terri, they should have kept Cindy.

Terri was the best! how come you all bash her?

Terri is so boring -- did they really need another sensible roommate? I know they wanted to make her different from Chrissy, but they ended up with a dull Janet clone. I agree that Jennilee Harrison isn't the most subtle actress around, but at least Cindy was a distinct personality, unlike bland Terri.

Early (non-platinum) Chrissy rules!

http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/frown.gif Yeah I agree with you. Terri was pretty but kind of boring. She wasn't too funny and was very serious. But she was smarter than Chrissy and Cindy. Cindy was pretty too, but very klutzy. She knocked into everything, but she wasn't dumb like her cousin. Cindy was pretty smart and went to UCLA to study to be a biologist or something. I knew she loved animals and wanted to care for them. Yes, I agree that Chrissy was the best in her early years when the Ropers were on the show. She was funny, pretty, and not stupid. Sure she acted like a ditz sometimes, but she was a total sweetheart. But she changed big time on season 4. All she did was snorting and saying stupid things. She changed her hair and clothes! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/eek.gif

Early (non-platinum) Chrissy rules!

I like Cindy. She should have stayed on the series to make up for the loss of Helen Roper.

Cindy and Terry were not funny. I don’t recall one thing they ever said or did that made me laugh . Do be fair to the actress who played Cindy she had no experience to be placed in such a important spot. She had huge hoes to fill.

I thought both Terri and Cindy were great in their own ways.

I don't know if anyone realizes this, this thread was started more than 2 decades ago.

The poster who started this post more than than 2 decades ago, sound like she belongs in preschool. I have never seen that name until now.

Was Cindy/Jenilee Harrison always supposed to just stay around for a season and a half? The character's last appearance on the show was in the "Janet Wigs Out" episode from Season 6. I'm assuming that the Cindy character was kept around for Season 6 as a means to help ease the transition from her to Priscilla Barnes' Terri as the main blonde woman in the apartment. Plus, Jenilee was admittedly, first hired to be something of stopgap measure when Suzanne Somers' contractional disputes were starting up.

Well Janet changed drastically when Terri came along. Janet became more ditzy like Chrissy and ANGRY

I remember in the TV movie "Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of Three's Company", there was a scene that showed the director Dave Powers wasn't a fan of Jenilee. I'm sure that was a big reason she was let go.

The story she was given is that she was too young for some of the sexual scripts since the other actors were older than her. Season 5 pivoted away from sexual innuendos and the ratings tanked. They wanted to bring the sex innuendo back and thought they needed someone older. The first few episodes the show hit the ground running. Terri comes on to Jack to make him feel like a man after Larry tells her something. Terri thinks Jack is a paid escort selling love lessons. Cindy's scripts were mix ups about Jack being an imposter chef, Cindy is missing, Dying to meet you, etc. Cindy was young. She just graduated high school and starting college.

I enjoyed Cindy in season 6... I think they should have kept her around. I remember reading what her salary was and it was really low, so money wasn't an issue.

The times she did pop in, she was really funny.

For the shoes she was stepping into with little or no acting experience she was terrific. I too think she did a great job.
I hated season 6 when she was reduced to walking in and delivering a line and then walking out. But I get they wanted a transition and not have Cindy disappear completely. Her comedic timing was really good for how little experience she had. She was great in Janet's secret with Jack.

Jenilee was green and it showed. Her portrayal of Cindy was a bit over the top with the clumsiness. I think they tried to hard with her character and it didn't come off as good as it was written on paper. Sometimes that happens and sometimes it goes the opposite. It was a impossible task for Jenilee. Priscilla's/Terri's softer approach worked much better with the audience in my opinion. And also there was no sexual chemistry between Jack and Cindy like there was between Jack and Terri. A couple of my favorite episodes of 3's featured Cindy.

Others have pointed out (https://www.reddit.com/r/threescompany/comments/1kdzzr1/comment/mqf876q/) that Jenilee Harrison was not really, a formally trained actress or comedian like Suzanne Somers or Priscilla Barnes. She was a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Rams not too long before she got hired to do Three's Company. So, the jokes that Jenilee were given were even broader than the show normally was. The thing about Suzanne Somers and something that maybe, people don't give her enough credit for, is that was actually really skilled at making dumb mistakes look really funny, while also being lovable and endearing.

another problem with Cindy was that the clumsy routine would have become really tiresome for another 3 years. its just too bad that Cindy just vanishes never to be heard from again after the wig episode.

Really? I never saw Janet that way at all. I mean, all the characters could, on occasion, be angry and ditzy with all the misunderstandings that was very common on the show. But I never viewed Janet as angry or ditzy per se.
