From a Simpson's fansite :The actor behind Mr. Burns, and Ned Flanders has slammed The Simpsons, claiming the last three seasons of the show have been the "worst". Harry Shearer believes the 15-year-old show is beginning to run out of ideas and he is getting bored providing the speech for Flanders, Burns and his assistant Waylon Smithers, Reverend Lovejoy, and Principal Skinner. Shearer says, "I rate the last three seasons as among the worst. It makes me sad. They used to have whole scenes. Season four looks very good to me now. I'd rather not be there right now. Fortunately I'm doing a lot of other things." Shearer has also angrily denied reports the cast threatened to strike over a pay dispute earlier this year. "We were never on strike. The day those stories appeared, I was at FOX doing vocal services for that week's show. What I can say is that's possible to make a very nice living and still get totally screwed."

Yeah, but I'll bet that after a few million money doesn't mean so much any more.

..."wearing out his welcome" at virtually every place he's worked for. Remember the two seasons of 'SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE" he was a cast member? 1979-'80 and 1984-'85? You don't? It's just as well: he was griping, even then, about how little his ideas or his comedic services weren't used or appreciated enough [I districly remember him for his occcasional appearances, during the 1984-'85 season, as "Mr. Blackwell"]. Several years ago, he was the announcer during the closing credits [and several promos] on almost every program of the 'TV Land' cable channel. He often sounded like "Mr. Obnoxious"...and if Matt Groening and his crew feel that Harry has finally "bitten the hand that's been feeding him for 20 years" and want to get of him, and find other voices for Burns, Smithers, Flanders and Skinner, they should!
