The Munsters: America's First Family of Fright, DVD set, has been canceled by IMAGE Entertainmet due to licensing and other issues it will not be released. According to them, the DVD was canceled, not postponed. I wanted to go out and buy it on August 24th, the same day as Season 1 comes out, but Universal Studios, told IMAGE Entertainment, that they weren't allowed to produce the DVD.

Very bad news it is ...

If every Munsters fan could take 5 minutes and write a letter to Universal Home Video, maybe ... just maybe we could make them see the need for such a release, and just maybe they will do something about it!

Please write to the address below, Be nice when you write ... and let's see if we can make a difference!

Wow. Don't scare me like that. At first glance I thought you meant the release of the Munsters first season was cancelled. It would have been good to have an extras DVD of the show. Who knows...maybe there will be bonus material in the season 2 release, now Universal realises the popularity of it.

Hi ph1l!

That's the same type of photograph that will be used in the Season 1 release cover, except on the Season 1 release, Herman's mouth is crooked towards the left, like he always does. And also, they laced the cover with a green glow.

From what tvshowsondvd.com said, they lost the rights to this particular release, so they had to cancel it.

Yup, I reported the news to them :) It is my hope with the support of other Fans we can show Universal it would be in their interest to produce a similar release, or include such features in the Season 2 release.
