As a major Nancy McKeon fan I am very upset. I loved this show alot and stupid A holes at Lifetime are giving up on their biggest hit series ever after only 4 seasons. How they can say the show has run it's course is beyond me. I'm thinking of canceling my subscription to their magazine.

I hope Nancy can find a new series right away and I look forward to seeing her in the new Miniseries and hopefully more movie rolls will come her way.

It's about time they put that show out of it's misery.

I loved that show until this past season, I stopped watching it, something I never thought I would do. I couldn't BELIEVE it when I heard it got signed on for a 5th season. Not only did I want the show cancelled b/c it was just getting awful, but I felt bad for everyone working on the show. I know all of them are talented enough to do something other than what this season was turning into.

I am sorry to all of you that still liked the show. I know that if I could still stand to watch it that I would be really bummed.

Now, if you need something to fill your Sunday 9 PM timeslot *motions you closer* Alias is a real winner.

The ratings were off by 20% this past season, according to Variety. That's why Lifetime decided to give it the ax. Even "Missing" gets higher ratings now.

I know what you mean. I would LOVE if the episodes came out on DVD.

NancyMarcAurora

I want them out on DVD so bad too. But maybe this is just a thought..ya know? I mean about 2 months ago they posted in an article that The DiVision was on a hiatus..which I believe. Then they had a Lifetime post on another article that TD's writer Deborah Joy Levine will try hard to make season 5 better and everything back in order again. Now we get something..so close to the times we got other sayings..that The Division is being cancelled? Isnt that odd? I hope they are still thinking about it..to tell the truth..I really did think TD was going to go off the air in middle of 4th season. But now it seems like they arent sure whats going to happen yet. I dunno..but I think if they are going to cancel the show, why don't they keep Any Day Now at 4 and do The Division at 5 and scoot Strong Medicine off the daytime lineup. No offense but SM is still playing and going on Sundays..it wouldnt be fair to just forget about TD and keep SM airing reruns and plus airing new episodes on Sundays. It's not enough to have TD playing at 11pm on 1 day every week. Very depressing day lol bet for all of us here. I hada feeling before some of the characters wanted out and I think thats partcially what it is too. They have their own lives..new husbands..new babies.. new opportunities, ect. And also we don't really think about how boring it must get to play same character over and over. Even though they have done a fantastic job over these years the shows been on. I know few of the characters will soon go onto other things and well see them then..but its like we need the whole crew lol it won't be same when they break apart..ahh..im so0 sad! :( :( :(

I believe that it is really over. It's too bad because I really enjoyed the show, but this past season wasn't that great. It did jump the shark. Now maybe the stars can move on and do bigger projects. I wish them luck in the future.

No way...I'm upset. I used to have a regular Sunday night schedule, with Any Day Now and Strong Medicine and from day 1 The Division had also been part of my Sunday night shows. Seasons 1-3 were great, but this past one wasn't so excellent. I blame the writers! I am really going to miss this show. There were too many things left unfinished...grrr!

I dont know if it was all AmyJo's fault. Even though she does not fit the show at all and I can tell. It was a mistake bringing her in the show..yes. CD should of stayed this last season and it would of made everything more better and complete this season. AND if Lifetime didnt skip through reruns and new eps every week. But Jinny getting pregnant effected this show too. Im not saying it made show bad at all but the show was too rushed and too slow at same time this season. DJL should do one more season and see how it goes.:talk: :( :(

How many of you out there are now mad enough to throw out your satellite receivers or cancell out your cable subscription. Not me. If I did that, I'd miss my MTV. Without my MTV, there's no Beavis and Butt-Head. I'll be glad to cancell Lifetime out of my satellite service. How many of you all are thinking the same. All of Nancy's and Vidal's movies can still be shown on the Lifetime Movie Network. Lifetime will get the clue. The only people that even watch 1800 Missing is the young punks that make up the so called Lizzie McGuire/Olsen Twins/Frankie Muniz generation. Hell, they even make N'Sync sound old school!

These young punks wants to put the 1965-1976 generation X out to pasture, I think not! We'll protest every Generation Y themed show out there. We need to band together my brothers and sisters, and protest against Lifetime and 1-800 Missing. I've also been hearing rumors that the new show Lifetime is coming out with will star Jennifer Love Hewitt, and supermodel Kate Moss in her first acting debut. Yuck!

I think Nancy McKeon was shunning(avoiding) being around Amy Jo Johnson. I thing Nancy McKeon can't even stand being around Amy Jo Johnson. Even on the main pic that TJ put up for this whole board, it looks real, and also notice that at one extreme is Nancy McKeon and at the other extreme is Amy Jo Johnson. I think they hate each other. Even Amy Jo Johnson looks like she's giving off a bad stare in return. Ever notice. I wouldn't be surprised if it even made it to the tabloids as a Nancy McKeon-Amy Jo Johnson fewd.

Ok, I don't know what to say bout Alias there, Lauren, LOL, but she's right guys... I mean, I know some of you are probably reeeeeally gunna hate me for this but... it was just getting so... awful's not the word... just... I think the stories were just drawn out way too long. And yeah, I'm probably gunna get some flames from people, but oh well. I was a MAJOR NMK fan and after a while... I think maybe TD's plots just got... stale, I guess you could say. I mean, after being such an NMKFanatic but... even I was starting to get a bit annoyed at constantly hearing about Jinny's alcohol/drug addiction and Magda's marriage problems. And like she said, I kinda felt bad for them too. Because they're all VERY talented IMO. But... I didn't think taking CD off the air was a smart choice either. However, since TD first started, I'd hoped someday Nancy and Amy Jo Johnson would work on the same show... odd how that actually came true... and that it won't be finished. I'm not saying I hate it cos yanno, I really do feel bad that it's canceled, especially to those who love and (still love) it, but I think things just got way out of... well, it kinda outgrew it's outfit before it could get into it, I guess you could say. It's just like how most shows end... there's only so many stories to tell, y'know? I'm not lookin for a fight... or anything else, so if ya don't agree w/ me, hey, all the power to ya cos that's all you. ...But this is how I feel.

I'm sorry for those of you that wanted to see the show go another season, and I shock myself to say this, BUT......I'm glad that it's being put out of its misery. If I could have another season like it was before CD left, I would have been over the moon, but we all know that that wasn't going to happen. I'm really not surprised that it got cancelled---I just had a feeling that it was, especially after seeing the finale.

THE GOOD NEWS----I'm just going to be happy that Jinny turned out clean and sober and happily married with a baby. I'm also going to just be happy that although the CD/Nate thing never got resolved during the show, they didn't slam the door shut on a reunion. I'm just going to imagine that she came back after Jinny's wedding.......;) :) :)

08-05-2004, 01:35 PM
Ok. As for my 2 cents, I can understand the actors/actresses wanting to get on with there lives. New babies, and marriages. So I can see cancelling the show, even though everyone will be missed. What I CAN'T understand, is people saying the show's arch has ended. How do you figure???? CD and Nate were JUST starting to hook up, then they chucked CD. OK fine. So Jinny gets married and has a baby then they end the show?!?! Now come on, how much do they think we can take?! If they want to end it, it's perfectly understandable. At least end it in a way we all want to see, ya know? So if they were to decide to do any other TD reunion thing, then maybe they're old fans might actually give a crap! Like CD and Nate getting married and having a baby. Or Jinny getting back with Teddy, and having a baby, ANYTHING just ONE THING to please us! But nope CD gets shot, disapears and Nate is heart broken, so he gets off with some ugly brunette. And Jinny marries this really hideous looking guy and has a georgous baby out of it?? Hmmmm. Guess John Jr. Jr. takes after THAT side of the family! I mean I knew after season 3, the show wasn't much longer for the world. I guess it's better all around. I know the viewer's must have dropped. It's just to bad they couldn't have done it in a better way. :(

One thing I don't understand is that Lifetime gave the green light to start production on the 5th season which was stated in an artical then there was another artical saying the Debra Joy Levine was doing something with a different pilot but Lifetime turned it down so her attention was on the 5th season of The Division. Now there is an artical saying that The Division has been cancelled. Lifetime is so stupid.

Well, I didn't watch the show that often, but what I did see was usually pretty good (especially the last episode with Kim Fields).

I'm wondering, if the show is cancelled, will they still continue to air it in reruns? I mean, is it really going to "go away?" Only time will tell...

It does suck that it's done. However, I would love to see Nancy McKeon back on a major network doing comedy. She's great at it!

NEW YORK -- Lifetime has canceled its second-longest-running scripted series "The Division," from Viacom Prods., after four years and 88 episodes.

The shutting down of "Division" leaves Lifetime with three weekly hourlong melodramas: "Strong Medicine," now in its fifth season; "Wild Card," in its second year; and "Missing," also in its sophomore year.

While Lifetime delivered bad news to "The Division," it boosted Lions Gate's "Missing" by commissioning five more episodes to swell its second-season total to 18, the same number of hours as the show's first season. "Wild Card," starring Joely Fisher (news) as an insurance investigator, got its 18-episode pickup six months ago.

"Missing," which is averaging a healthy 2.2 million total viewers season to date, has successfully navigated the perils of replacing a series lead after the first season, substituting Vivica A. Fox for Gloria Reuben. Fox plays an FBI (news - web sites) agent whose partner (played by Caterina Scorsone) is a psychic.

"Division" has fallen off by about 20% this season to an average viewership of 2 million compared with the 2.5 million total viewers it was chalking up during same period in 2003.

Created by Deborah Joy Levine, "Division" takes place in a San Francisco precinct house whose captain (played by Bonnie Bedelia) and most of the inspectors were women. A spokesman for Lifetime said the network has made no decision yet about whether to buy the 88 rerun episodes.

I am heartbroken. I felt that this may be coming, but was really hoping that Lifetime would give TD one more season to get it's
viewers back on board. You all know that I'm like in love with Bonnie Bedelia and just don't know what I'll do without new BB
material every week!!!! I guess this would be the week to tell me TD was canned because I did just get 2 new BB movies from ebay, so that new material softened the blow, a little.
I so wish we had one last season to say goodbye.
Maybe I'll get lucky and they will buy the reruns and start airing them in the day again. But there is probably as much chance of that as there is for BB doing Die Hard 4!!!!!!!!!!!
:( :( :( :( :( :( So bummed.

Yah..me too. I think this is it..as of now. But I do believe they made a mistake bringing in AmyJo even though it was not all her fault. I hada strong feeling some of characters wanted out. Mostly Nancy McKeon and Lisa Vidal probably. I am hoping they run reruns and there is no reason why they should play SM weekdays. Its still going and when it goes off the air..then play reruns..right now focus on playing reruns for TD. Thats the smart way to go.;)

I don't even think Lifetime owns The Division. Paramount/Viacom is the official owners of The Division. Sorry to break this to you fans out there, but I have a bad feeling that Lifetime won't even show The Division on reruns. I think The Division will go the same road that Sex in the City went. I see The Division showing reruns on TBS just like Sex and the City is doing right now. I really see Ted Turner buying up every rerun of The Division and showing it on his channel, most likely TBS. Just my prediction!

Me too, really. The network makes me so mad. From stuff like cancelling shows to little stuff, like scheduling a show but instead airing a movie. This network is stupid sometimes and I'm sick of watching it!

On the website I couldn't find anything on the cancellation except that on the message boards someone posted that article.

I don't like the makeover shows like Merge, Head 2 Toe, and How Clean Is Your House. Their problem is they're getting too many shows, like Suddenly Susan and Providence and too many new original dramas, and also they're still airing movies all the damn time so each show gets like 30 min a week and it's so annoying. This probably made no sense.

NancyMarcAurora
08-07-2004, 05:09 PM
Yah..they have alot of those shows on there still and then they bring in new ones and they just go off quickly now. Providence..I use to be obsessed with that show for 2 years when I was young..as much as TD and that went to 1:00am and 1:00pm and now its like gone now and then. Merge..ehh..How clean is your house?..ehhh..Head 2 Toe..ehh. Theyre all a waste. Unsolved Mysteries..who needs that anymore. Golden Girls I love and I love it on there all the time..so I cant say I want that to go off lol..I hate the frigen Nanny..oh god I hate that show I wish theyd take that off! lol & Suddenly Susan..Mad About you..Does anyone recall For The People..the new show..being canceleld like 3 weeks after its airing? That was a waste..and I hate Wild Card lol no offense thats just my opinion and Missing isnt a bad show I mean I'd watch it if I was bored cause I know a bit about it. Lifetime has always messed up stuff and it's time they sort things out.

Hmm. I found an article that was from April, where she said that the kind of steady work such as on The Division wasnt appealing to her. She'd rather work 6 to 10 weeks at a time, be done with it and move on to the next thing The article was partly about her reluctancy to do a series so...from the article:

"I was very hesitant to do a series," she admits. "I had turned down many series during the years. . . I had a nice movie career going. That kind of steady work was not appealing to me, where there's the possibility of it going on and on," she rolls her large eyes through her oval-shaped black horn-rims. "With movies you work six or 10 weeks and then it's over. . . But they were going to shoot in Vancouver, and I live in Washington state."

"You work all your life, I'd raised two boys and I was always taking care of someone. . . .and I've got to the point where now I want to do what I want to do. I don't think of this kind of work as something I want to do," she shrugs

That's pretty much all she said regarding that issue. I dunno if NancyMarcAurora was talking about a different article but I think you all get the idea...

I am sad to see the show go off the air. However, I had a feeling that it would not be back after the season finale aired. It was just the way that it ended with everyone together and happy. I do believe that Liftime gave up on the show this year. The show always ended its season in August. When Lifetime decided to show all the remaining shows in June, I figured that Lifetime was no longer interested.

I did read a post on another board from someone who knows Taraji. They said that she was not planning on coming back for another season because the filming took up so much time away from her son and his activities.

I'm sure the cast was as sad to see it end as the fans. However, I can see that they probably are glad that they will be able to spend time on other projects or with their families.

Man, I need to come here more often. Every time I come...more bad news. The Division episodes, I'll admit, were less dramatic than the previous three seasons. But I think it was because Jinny had finally settled down and sobered up, for real. But to cancel the show because it had run it's course? This really sucks. I was thinking about how in a year I'll be in college and then I'd have my own dorm and I'll be watching division in there...there goes that.

Lifetime has been focusing on Wild Card and Missing waay to much. Since the shows aired last August, I knew something was up. You don't show re-runs five times a week if you don't want the show to go somewhere. Maybe Lifetime planned it this way. This just makes me so mad. They better keep showing re-runs though, so I can at least have the last couple of episodes of the show on tape. :(

Wow...I've really been out of touch.

I just found out TD was cancelled.

TD was my favorite tv show until the first episode of last season. It was evident CD was not coming back after I had invested in that entire Nate/CD relationship. The whole thing angered me so much I never watched another episode.

I never even knew Jinny got married until I read through this thread.

TD being cancelled leaves me a little sad knowing there will never be any new eps. If the first episode of last season was any indication it is probably for the best that the show was put out of it's misery now.
