I hate when they overplay the previews for a ABC Family Original Movie...example "Crimes of Fashion". It seems like at every commercial break they air the previews for that movie. It's driving me bonkers! Anyone feel the same way? BTW I liked the movie.

This should be on the general board.

It's an ABC Family original movie, of course it's gonna get alot of promotion :)

Yeah. I agree with everything you said.

Why is everyone posting topics that belong on the General board?

it has nothing to do with sitcoms.

I don't think I watch anything on ABC Family, but a lot of networks run promos for their own programming ad nauseum, especially if it's original programming.

The only original movie I really liked was Beautiful Girl. Abc family isn't very consisent, but I'm forced to watch it because some of my favorite shows are on there.

I also can't stand that original movie "Lucky 7"- thats so stupid when the girl has to marry the 7th guy she dates- GOLLY:mad:

By the way this is my 400th post :woohoo:

Its bad enough when they show a commercial for an ABC Family original movie once or twice during every commercial break...but then, sometimes RIGHT AFTER showing one of those ads, they show another one at the bottom of the screen when the channel returns to the show or movie that was airing. I mean come ON! Its overkill...

Aside from that nonsense, ABC Family will be one of my favorite channels once they start airing Gilmore Girls, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Grounded for Life and Wonder Years. I also like Boy Meets World, Full House, Step by Step, Whose Line is it Anyway?, Family Matters and 7th Heaven.

I had to edit this post a few times, as I kept remembering cool ABC Family shows that I had forgot to add. What a great channel...

One last thing... Bring back Growing Pains!!!

OK, I'm done...

I wish they bump off 'Step By Step' . I mean really, hasn't ABC Family had enough of Susanne Somers? I'd rather see '8 Simple Rules' added to the ABC Family lineup. :D

8SR I don't think qualifies for syndication yet. I see nothing wrong with ABCF airing Step By Step

Step by Step should definitely stay on ABC Family. I just wish ABC Family would move it to a different time slot later in the day.

I agree with the person who said the network should bring back Growing Pains. :)

ABC Family Shifts to Focus on Younger Viewers with Sexier Programming (http://variety.com/2015/tv/news/abc-family-maker-studios-young-adults-upfront-1201472336/)

Then, in that case, they need to change there name. You cant be ABC Family and not have any family shows.

when Pat Robertson sold the Family Channel years ago, there was a requirement to keep "Family" in the name and air the 700 Club forever, they'd have to shut down the channel if they changed the name or dropped the 700 club, there's no requirement to keep airing "Family" programming, they could name it "Atheist Family Channel" if they wanted to

Pat, Pat, Pat...you might as well have an anti-trust for your station...and if they have sexier programming, call it SEX Family...sounds insane, but that's what America wants...for the most part!

Ditto. I haven't watched ABC Family since they cancelled "Lincoln Heights." I'm still mad at them about that.

I do like M&J because of the two actors who were once on shows as children (Joey Lawrence with GAB and "Blossom" and MJH with CEIA and STTW).

Hart and Lawrence are VERY talented...and if Nell Carter was still with us...I'm sure she'd have a cameo on M&J!

I'm pretty sure that if they could, Disney, the current owners of ABC Family would like to change it. When they first purchased it, the original plan was to call the channel "XYZ" (the last three letters in the alphabet;)). If they decided to drop "Family" from the name, then in effect, that would be like creating an entirely new network from scratch. It would be extremely hard/complicated to renegotiate w/ cable companies and sponsors to carry and support this "new" channel.

but Disney probably have leverage to do that, tying it with ESPN or local ABC stations
