Goodlife TV airs Honeymooners episodes that were part of the Jackie Gleason Show in the 1960s. Today they showed one in which Richard Deacon plays hypnotist the Great Fatchoomara. He tries to hypnotize Alice (unsuccessfully, of course) into giving Ralph money for the Racoon convention!
At the end of each show Gleason always comes out of character and introduces the cast. On this show he introduced Richard as Mr. Robert Deacon!!

That must've been very embarrassing for him later, when was undoubtedly told he said the wrong name. Poor Jackie - and Richard!

I taped this ep off of Good Life as well and watched the end w/ the intro of "Robert Deacon". I was wondering if he had an identical twin maybe, same as Conrad Bain does, who just didn't get as many acting jobs. :) I hope to get around to watching the whole show soon.
Before this show, I also taped two eps of The New DVD Show. Nick Clooney mentioned going into the show that it had a dream sequence where Dick and the other men in the cast were pregnant. That should be fun to see. I did notice the different opening credits from the third and last year, which was set in Hollywood instead of Arizona. Too bad the show ended that year. I've read that it was finally starting to catch on w/ the viewing public, but Carl Reiner had left the show by then, and Dick didn't want to continue it w/o him.

yea, Carl left because he got mad when CBS refused to air an episode, and he felt there was nothing wrong with the show. It was about when Dicks daughter (I forget her name) caught Dick and his wife (I think her name was Jenny) in bed, making love.
And they didn't even show the scene, but CBS still felt it was too much for prime time.
Annie;) ;) that was their daughters name-I just remembered (I haven't seen the show in years)
