kudos to Nick At Nite for showing this. I was too young to see TC in the first run. But from what a friend told me, they actually showed the first Ropers episode (notice why there was no Jack, Janet or Chrissie) disguised under the TC credits.

If that is true, that is very cool, considering The Ropers' own show has been decomposing in the television graveyard for 20 years now.

This is true, John. I have seen it also. I do have 1 episode of the Ropers I taped when my local station aired it.

Nick At Nite has skipped the Ropers pilot this time around, but they did show it I think twice. It was really funny. I think I managed to tape it.

Yeah, the pilot and one other "Ropers" episode (the one where Jack, Janet, and Chrissy show up at their party) have always played as part of the TC syndication package, even before Nick-at-Nite picked it up. You can tell they're really "Ropers" episodes, because the writing/directing credits at the end of the show appear over a shot of the Ropers' condo, rather than the shot of the roommates riding their bikes.

Also, TC episodes always say "Based on the British series 'Man About the House'" at the end of the closing credits. For these two episodes, the closing credits say "Based on the British series 'George & Mildred'". (These two British series were briefly syndicated in the US in the early 80s. If you ever have a chance to see them, it's pretty interesting).

The other episode that Nick At Nite shows is #7: Stanley, The Ladies Man. I think that they did skip both the pilot and that episode this time around though.
