Anyone here use Kazaa Lite? Is it the same as Kazaa? Is this legal or can the RIAA still track you through using Kazaa Lite? :talk:

I used to have Kazaa Lite installed on my computer, but now I don't used them anymore because of the RIAA.:(

All I should do is buy CD's or cassette's that I can go to some yard sales and archive it into my hard drive and make it a copy on a CD. I use Windows Movie Maker.:)

I used to use it but now I don't. It wasn't so much because of the RIAA but because of the spyware. It gave my computer all sorts of hell. My browser was hijacked and someone or something couldn't allow me to get on SO. I had to restore my computer and stuff. Kazaa Lite may have free music but it will still come with a price and it isn't necessarily money.

I don't give a crap about the RIAA.

I use Kazaa Lite although several months ago i got 3 viruses from it and everything on my computer had to be reset. Oh well, it's really addicting. I also have Napster, i use it for when i can't find songs on kazaa or for when i can but they keep bursting into static or something.

I haven't used a file-sharing service in almost a year, but when I did, it was SoulSeek. It's a lot less intrusive than KaZaA or KaZaA Lite.

What is SoulSeek? Do you get a lot of hard to find songs on this one like Kazaa? is it like Napster? Can't you buy a Napster gift card at BestBuy? And how does that work?

On SoulSeek, you can find a lot of hard-to-find songs, just like on KaZaA. The big difference is the fact that it's safer for your computer than KaZaA.

Napster cards work kind of like a calling card - you buy a certain amount of downloads at the store (or online) and you can take the card home, punch in the card number, and download away.

I use SoulSeek now, and I like it a lot. It doesn't infest my computer with crap.

And for the record, the RIAA can kiss my ass...

I don't use any kind of file-sharing service (Kazaa, etc.) myself. As for spyware, it's one of the worst threats to computers! I have both Ad-Aware 6 and Spybot on my computer to take care of this menace.
