Once upon a time there was a board called SO that allowed pictures in signatures. They were getting out of control so the administrator made rules. No one followed them. It was costing him too much money, so on June 30 2003, he disabled them. Many people bitched at him and announced their departure of the boards. Needless to say, they are all still here. They were turned on briefly in July but disappeared after a few days to a week, I think.

And the original intent had been because he wanted to open the picture gallery then...remember when it was scheduled to open in July? That never happened...it opened in January of this year. :lol:
