The Chrissy character was pretty disturbing during the Furley seasons. Imagine a woman in her mid-thirties acting, dressing, and talking like a seven-year-old. Ugh! gives me chills! Yet the character started out semi-dumb during the first few seasons when Suzanne Somers was younger. Maybe if they did it in reverse it wouldn't have felt so disturbing. Well, does anybody else have any opinions about this?

Yeah, Suzanne's make-up person must have changed too, because she put too much on in the Furley episodes, and her lines weren't as clever as they were before.

I wonder why they did that? To me Suzanne Somers didn't need all that make up to look beautiful. It actually made her less attractive to me.

http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/eek.gif I agree with you. Chrissy changed a lot during the 4th season. She went from a beautiful, mature lady into an ugly immmature dork who snorted a lot. She acted stupid. Her makeup was ok, but her hair looked fake. It had all that bleach and dumb ponytails. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/eek.gif

I think the producers of the show saw that Chrissy's "dumb-blonde" character was funny, and wanted to "kick it up a notch", so to speak, to hike ratings. Alas, it was purely overkill, and it was more sad than funny by the 4th season. It was almost like the poor girl was mentally retarted. Bad move! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/frown.gif
This happens alot to good shows, I've noticed.
