"Thriller."

Your five choices are appropriate, because those "artists" have given me the creeps for twenty years!

The creepiest video I have ever seen is Blue Oyster Cult's "Shooting Shark" I tried to find an image somewhere but I couldn't.

I highly doubt that too many people here have ever seen it. It was released in late 1983 and did not receive much airplay back then. The song "Shooting Shark" was a minor hit at best on Billboard's charts in '83

It was the only video to ever give me nightmares. Some of the images were truly disturbing

I'd love to find a copy of it- even a cruddy old VHS or even BETA

What's creepy about Madonna's Oh Father video? That song and video is one of my favorites from her. "Creepy" is the last adjective I'd used to describe that video.

Yeah, kind of a narrow frame of reference when Janice J. posts a poll (no offense, Janice). But then, if we're talking about creepy videos, most likely Michael Jackson will be involved one way or another.

When I was seven and the Thriller video first came out, the part where Michael turns into a warewolf sacred me like you wouldn't believe. For a month after seeing that video I slept with my closet light on! I saw the video again two years ago, and now I think it's really corny.

Any Michael videos from the 90s and 2000s are the creepiest. :grr:

I always found the video for NIN's "Closer" kind of creepy. I like the song though.

I agree, I don't find the video creepy at all. If anything, I think the video is an honest depiction of what it immediately feels like right after you lost a parent.

my vote for the creepiest video ever has to be Happiness In Slavery by Nine Inch Nails.

The video (which was completely banned from MTV) was about a guy who gets naked and straps himself to some sort of bondage machine... and he proceeds to get tortured and slowly be fed to a meatgrinder. It was disgusting, disturbing, and just plain wrong... yet it's something you like to brag to others that you saw and they didn't, lol

I think that I sort of remember that. NIN was a band that I could never really get into. Their music was just so...nasty?

I like some NIN songs, but to paraphrase what you said about Billy Joel... for the most part NIN is a second-rate Depeche Mode

Damnit, Im going to sound like a complete ass because not only do I forget the band, but I forget the song too. Anyways, it was on VH1s Greatest Videos Ever a few years back... it was in the 20s or so. Something to do with dreams... in the end this big Mack truck like.. almost into the kid. Kinda freaked me out.

Out of that list, Thriller I suppose.

And, the video itself isnt creepy, but in Justin Timberlakes Cry Me A River.. when he sniffs 'Britneys' hair without her knowing is kinda eerie, but the video isnt creepy.

"Wipeout" by the Beach Boys and the Fat Boys is a pretty creepy video, because if you look closely, you can actually see Mike Love, Al Jardine and Bruce Johnston stomping on the Beach Boys' remaining credibility.

Don't go by what people say on imdb. I know I've made jokes about MJ, but I also have to say "Childhood" is absolutely one of my favorite videos from him. I can understand if there are people who think it's too sugary, but every so often it's nice to hear in a song and see in a video that type of tenderness and sensitivity. It's a well made video and a good song, Madonna's Oh Father is likewise.

Yes,Vashti, I was hoping people would forget that.:o I made a new(same) thread, with no Poll in it. And I don't think Is It Scary was ever a video.:o I decided to post the same thread without the poll so that no one would want to complain since the choices aren't limited this time..:)

There are some music videos out there that are just plain creepy ! What are your opinions on the creepiest music videos? (Provide a link to the video if you can!)

Heart-Shaped Box, by Nirvana-- this video creeped me out in a major way when it first came out and it still creeps me out 'til this day.

http://www.youtube.com/?v=npyirzHF42I

Sledgehammer, by Peter Gabriel-- I remember being a kid and being terrified of this video. It's just so weird. Two words: dancing chicken

http://www.youtube.com/?v=LBV0JOcIMuQ

Jeremy, by Pearl Jam-- not really creepy per se, but it's disturbing since it's based on a true story about a boy who killed himself in front of his classmates. The scene at the end of the video where he puts the gun in his mouth was edited out so you couldn't see the actual suicide (although if you take a look at one of the end scenes, you can see him pull something out his pocket and close his eyes).

http://www.youtube.com/?v=rH29SV7IMvU

Geek Stink Breath, by Green Day-- not creepy as much as it's GROSS. Shows an actual tooth being pulled on video. I remember they'd only show this video after a certain time at night.

(you can find the video on videocodezone or myspace, I think)

Any others? :)

Tori Amos "Spark " video where a man has her stashed in the trunk of his car blindfolded and tied. She escapes from the car and the whole video is centered around walking through an isolated forest, away from her own death while her murderer is trying to track her. Very suspenseful and creepy video....perfectly paired with the song!

Hermann Es Heirrr by Nina Hagen, they showed this video on Beavis And Butt-Head once, check it out, it's so perverse and the part where she's talking in the demonic voice with her face merged together with the skull is eerie. Oddly enough, this is the same chick who like 6 years later was singing cheesy dance-pop with "Universal Radio"

"Closer" by Nine Inch Nails. Half of that video has to be edited out for it to be even shown on television, but I saw the lesser edited version on MTV one time (part of some most shocking videos countdown thing). It's extremely strange/creepy....but it's one of those videos that you watch anyway. It kind of draws you in (or it does me, anyways).

System of a Down's "Aerials" video also freaks me out. That kid is just weird looking.

And, whoever said A Perfect Circle, what is the name of that video with the chick with the long blonde/white hair, crawling around the forest? That is another strange video.

I agree with Sledgehammer. that was a really creepy video.
It bugged me so much that I couldn't stand Peter Gabriel.

Then there was another video that gave me the creeps when I was a kid.
The song was called 'Cry' (forget who sang it)...
It was a black and white video of the person's face and the face kept changing.
From sad people and clowns and whatever.
It hard to remember too much because everytime it came on, I either turned
it off or ran out of the room screaming.
That was back in the early 80s, used to be on MTV a lot. yuk.

'Rapture' by Blondie. That guy with the glowing robotic eyes...

'Trapped in the Closet Pt. 1' by R. Kelly. The first few times I saw it, I was like, what in the heck is this crap?

'Cry' by Godly and Creme, but it's much funnier when Beavis and Butthead are commenting on it.

'Enter Sandman' by Metallica. It's bad enough that I'm frightened by eighteen wheelers... I don't really need to see a kid get almost smushed by one.

'Black Hole Sun' by Soundgarden. Another one made funnier when Beavis and Butthead comment on it, especially the "Juan Veldez" and "I learned it from watching Star Trek." bits.

You will probably laugh but I used to think the Wild Wild West video was creepy when they would show those arms and legs moving and they wouldn't show any other body parts just the arms and legs like they were floating in the air.
I also think Big and Riches save a horse ride a cowboy video is creepy- (Sorry if you like it)
