Wings is one of the unrrated shows. It certainly deserves a lot more attention and recogniton then it gets. It;s weird I am also a Friends fan, but find Wings so much better. This show does not get the recogniton it truly deserves. It also irks me that none of the Wings cast recieved Emmy awards, yet Kelsey makes an appearance, and gets one, now I like Kelsey, but the cast of WIngs should've gotten many Emmy awards and nominations.

I agree with you. In fact, my very first post back in 2002 was stating the same thing. It's really upsetting the way NBC acts like they never showed "Wings." It must have been popular, because USA showed it four times a day back in the late 90's.

I agree Wings is one of the most underrated series in tv history. Most of the shows I love are underrated: Boy Meets World, Who's the Boss? Growing Pains, and so on, but yet a crappy show like Seinfeld gets all this attention :rolleyes:

The shows aren't underrated actually.. As you'll notice, most extremely overrated shows end when the producers and staff want them to. Wings ended because the cast wanted to move onto other things. They were going to do one more season but NBC said now or you'll have to wait another 2 seasons.

All the underrated shows ended because the cast wanted to move on. Networks don't like that, so they don't make a big deal of the shows leaving.

Friends ended because the network decided to wrap it up, not the cast. So it was made into a big deal because the network made the decision.

Wings has millions of fans, for all me know, more than Friends. If wings would've held out until the network wanted to end it, ppl wouldn't of underrated it.

So the reason Wings didn't go out with the bang we expected, was because the network doesn't make big deals out of cast decisions..

NBC you're bad! But release wings anyway..


The original plans for Wings was to end it in 2000 to keep it a 10 year run.
If nbc didn't keep airing 2 episodes on wings constantly it would've lasted out till late 1998 and would've included 9 seasons.


The contracts haven't been broken, they just aren't being used. The cast can go back and continue at any time, because they still have 2 seasons left until they can decide to start a new contract.
This means they can either do the show for another two seasons later on, or it can be left open to hold a reunion special of some kind..

In 2005 you'll probably see alot of NBC talk over Wings and Cheers because both the shows ended earlier than NBC hoped and 2005 was the hopeful Deadline for wings. So most likely they'll hold a special over it in May 2005, 8 years after the show ended, because it lasted for 8 seasons..

It sounds confusing but just wait and lets see if im right.

As much as I love Wings, I'm glad it ended when it did. I think the last season was terrible. Wings still deserved to go out with a much bigger bang.

Cool! I never knew that. I actually wouldn't mind if they started doing new episodes right now. We need more shows like Wings and Cheers on the air. Just about everything on nowadays is just pure garbage.

There will most likely be a cheers reunion in the next few years because it ended in like 93.. Lol.
