Vashti, thanks for posting this.

I think Joss Stone should have been nominated for "Supa Dupa Love" and Van Hunt should have been nominated in the best new artist category.

Oh well, its MTV.

I like them, but not enough to sit through 3 hours of Britney and Usher, lol

I lost interest in the VMAs about five years or so ago. The only good thing about the awards is when Chris Rock hosts.

I was excited last year because there was a chance Johnny Cash might show up, but he got sick and it never happened.

exactly, the VMA's became a popularity contest instead of voting for the best. The days of a Neil Young video winning Best Video is over.

I'm not a Britney fan, but why Toxic over Everytime?

Why Hey Ya for Outkast and not Roses? Roses was one of the few good videos that got heavy airplay this past year, Hey Ya was okay, but not AS good IMO.

I actually love Jay-Z's "99 Problems." Well the song, but I hope the video wins at least one. Most of the videos this year bored me though. Pretty much a sucky year. Oh, and No Doubt needs to win everything they've been nominated for.

I think they're both neat videos, but "Hey Ya" is cooler. I like the concept (though Paul McCartney did it first).

I LOVED the Hey Ya video the first time I saw it. I did think of Paul's "Coming Up" vid, but I guess with tech advances since then, Hey Ya's blending of multiple Andre 3000s looked more seamless. I also liked that he was doing something other than one would expect from a hip hop act.

This is the first year the nominations seem so *blah* to me.

am i the only person disapointed that Incubus' Megalomanic wasn't nominated for Best Video? I mean, I know the video was controversial and political... but come on, it was definately a better video than Toxic, Yeah (what is so good about the video?) or My Band. And in 10-15 years people will still talk about that video.

Exactly... so many damn repeats. If I hear "Yeah!" one more time, I'm gonna blow my brains out...

Exactly. for crying out loud outkast's "hey ya" video was nominated for best special effects, and IT'S JUST A BUNCH OF GIRLS SCREAMING AT THE TOP OF THEIR LUNGS. That song blows ass and so does the video. "Roses" should have been nominated instead. The video was much better, as well as the song itself.

It's also kind of funny how Evanescence's "My Immortal" was nominated for best rock video. it's not rock. "Everybody's Fool" really should have been nomintaed for something, it's an amazing video.
