I have so many favorites! If I had to single out one though, it would have to be Draw Me a Pear. :D

I agree with you, Carrie.
Too many to list, but if I have to pick... It's a tie! "The Curious Thing About Women," and "Long Night's Journey into Day."
Followed closely by "The Lady & The Babysitter," and "That's My Boy???"

I'll go along with Steve on "Long
Night's Journey into Day." It
seems most of my favorites are
where Mary or Dick really got to
stand out that week. I love "A
Farewell to Writing" and "Pink
Pills and Purple Parents." And
they were both great (well, they
always were) in "All About
Eavesdropping" and "My Part-Time
Wife." But if it was just one, I
might say "Laura's Little Lie."
She was so nervous and seemingly
genuinely knotted up that it must
been very taxing on her. And she
did all these little razor sharp
vocal twists and turns that were
just brilliant. I love that one.

I love this episode in Season Five (I don't know the name and my Season Five set is currently in the mail, so I cannot look it up) where Rob, Laura, Buddy, and Sally have to break into Alan Brady's office and his house to get a script before he gets a hold of it.

That was "Obnoxious, Offensive, Egomaniac, Etc." and is also one of my favorites. #1 for me is "All About Eavesdropping" followed closely by "Coast to Coast Bigmouth".

Hey, Van Dyke fans! :) ...........

If Image Entertainment, Inc., had put me in charge of selecting 20 Van Dyke eps. to place on its series of 5 "Best Of" DVDs, here's what the discs would have looked like, episode-wise (many of these eps. do, indeed, appear on the Image Best-Of discs; but there are a few that I've replaced with others that I feel would be better-suited to adorn a DVD entitled "Best Of"). What would YOUR episode selection be for the 5 "Best Of" discs?

My collection of "THE BEST OF THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW" would include the following episodic adventures with Rob & Laura :) ........................

VOLUME 1:
"The Sick Boy And The Sitter"
"Never Bathe On Saturday"
"A Nice, Friendly Game Of Cards"
"The Curse Of The Petrie People"

VOLUME 2:
"All About Eavesdropping"
"My Husband Is A Check-Grabber"
"Pink Pills And Purple Parents"
"The Impractical Joke"

VOLUME 3:
"Coast-To-Coast Big Mouth"
"The Curious Thing About Women"
"Ray Murdock's X-Ray"
"Harrison B. Harding Of Camp Crowder, Mo."

VOLUME 4:
"My Blonde-Haired Brunette"
"That's My Boy??"
"The Two Faces Of Rob"
"I'd Rather Be Bald Than Have No Head At All"

VOLUME 5:
"It May Look Like A Walnut"
"The Ghost Of A. Chantz"
"The Case Of The Pillow"
"Empress Carlotta's Necklace"
