Yes, that's exactly what it meant. They were taped when they were nine months old. ;) I'm pretty sure they auditioned at 6 months.

They would have been 9 months old in March 1987. The articles seem to make it sound like in the first episode(s) the twins were 9 months old which wouldn't make sense. Shows do not tape five months in advance.
