Did you guys see that episode when Jack's old enemy from the navy came to dinner and wrecks it? He practically trashed the trio's apartment and spills red wine on Roper's pants. That show was so funny. What did you think about it?

I have a question. I forgot what happened at the end. I remember the kids invited the Ropers for dinner because they wanted to please Mr. Roper so he wouldn't raise the rent price. Did he end up raising the rent? Post your answers as soon as possible.

He didn't end up raising the rent, he said they will have enough trouble paying for the damages...and the tag was when Jack came back from the Roaring '20s party and was very soar because of the punches from David Dukes..

Oh, okay. I get it know, but I think the kids should track down that blind guy and make him pay for the damages. It wasn't the kids' fault. What was the name of the navy guy anyway?

Jim Walsh was his name...played by David Dukes, most known as Edith's rapist on All in the Family.

Thank you for the info. I think the kids should have tracked Jim down and make him pay for all the damages he did in the apartment. First of all he spilled red wine on Roper's pants, he knocked down some vases, ripped Chrissy's old teddy bear apart, threw food around, etc. The kids were probably in debt after paying off the damages done by Jim. I bet they wished for Mr. Roper raising the rent while paying for the damage. It would have probably been a lot cheaper. If you know what I mean.

I really hated that episode. I just hated it. Jim Walsh was his name, and he was one of Jack's Navy Buddies, and he wanted Jack to punch him out.

I kinda thougtht Jim Walsh was mean for wreking the apartment and dinner with Ropers, but it was hilariuos! Like whem Jim was throwing food around, breaking furniture, and spilling redwine on Roper's pants. I liked it when he hit Jack and kept saying, Hit me. lol.

I was trying for the life of me to recall when I saw that guys face (David Dukes) & you are right! He was the rapist on the All in the family show......... You are good at trivia!

Couldn't you have just re-vitalized this old message thread of yours instead of creating a new thread in which you essentially asked the exact same question about the exact same episode?

Thats like my fav. eppie! I loved it when mrs. roper said...

"Oh, Jack you can't hit a blind man"

and then Jim Walsh goes...

"Lady why don't you just keep your big fat nose outa this!"

and then Mrs. Roper goes...

"HIT HIM!" hahahaha loved that part! I rewinded it like 20 times!

I like the episode. You cant help to feel sorry for Jack though. Poor guy. If it were me, I would have decked him. He kept asking for it.

So the trio got stuck paying for the damages. Serves them right. They had a responsibility to get that man out instead of ignoring all the damage.

I almost like that episode but I can't quite, because I wanted Jack to have succeeded in hitting the guy. I thought the Navy Guy was really annoying (but on the other hand, he was supposed to be) and deserved to get punched. I kind of feel guilty saying that about a blind person but then again, the blind guy kept taunting Jack to hit him. lol

I agree. I never cared much for that episode. The only part that I really liked about it was how Jack's hair was sticking straight up when he got up off the couch after being punched.
