View Full Version : Al and Steve, Best character interaction on the show? TVFactFan 07-26-2004, 08:08 PM Steve looked at Al as a loser, Al looked at Steve as a Nerd and that's why i enjoyed their interactions on the show. Anyone agree that this interaction was the best? Chain Gang Member 07-27-2004, 10:25 AM They were a great interaction Steve's Roadhouse 07-27-2004, 01:33 PM I agree. The problem with later MWC was that Jefferson was just Al's sidekick (an idiot), and Marcy had become a freak. There was nobody who was intelligent and normal (Bud was smart, but not normal). Steve was the contrast to the Bundys. That's why I enjoy the whole run of MWC. The later episodes have more laugh-out-loud moments and Al is more animated, but the early seasons have better character interaction. I agree, Since Steve was the Complete opposite of Al, that made their interactions very HUMOROUS. Newbie 07-27-2004, 08:31 PM Married with Children was a lot more witty and funny with Steve. When Jefferson came over, it became a ronchy, beer drinking type show, which took away from the witty humor in favor of the more obvious over the top humor. Watch Al in the Steve years compared to him in the Jefferson years. Al is a lot more self-deprecating and sarcastic with his humor, instead of loud and abnoxious like he was in the later ones. It's easy to get cheap laughs with nudie bars, beer, etc. The character interaction with Al and Steve was some of the best TV writing I've ever seen. One Classic Interaction between Al and Steve is when the girl inside th store that sold ladies underwear thought Al and Steve was a couple AL: And If i was gay i like to think I could do better than him Steve: What's that's supposed to mean? Al: You don't turn me on, there i said it LOL LOL LOL Vicki L. 10-04-2004, 03:23 AM I didn't find their interaction between each other all that fabulous. Christina Applegate was the best thing about this show! |
