from the futon critic...

SCRUBS (NBC) - Heather Graham's ("Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me") stint as an attending psychiatrist on the Peacock comedy has been confirmed to be eight episodes. "I've always found Heather incredibly funny and can't wait to start writing this character for her," said Bill Lawrence, the show's creator and executive producer, in a press release touting the news. "Although her character will be a professionally competent shrink, her personal life will be a train wreck. She'll shine the light on all the other characters' dysfunctional behaviors and will be a foil for Dr. Cox and a mentor to Elliot."

Blah, Not looking forward to this...I've never liked Heather Graham. Plus 8 episodes I think is too much... But I guess she'll be better than Bellamy Young (Dr. Miller)

I read about that the other day.

I think Heather did a good job in her guest role on "Arrested Development" last season, so hopefully she'll hold her own with the cast of "Scrubs."

I think she's probably going to move to the small screen. Her film career hasn't been much to shout about lately.

I thought she was very good in last night's episode, and she fits in fine with the rest of the cast.

As long as they don't go on about how hot she is or anything I think she will be a nice addition.

Oh, and good riddance to that Dr. Miller.

I thought it last nights episode was awesome!! It was alot better than alot of the episodes last season. Heather Graham was alot better than I thought she would be.... the only part I thought was stupid was the music in J.D's head.

I too liked the season premiere. I must admit I was never a big Heather Graham fan (at least a fan of her movies) but I thought she was great.
I hope they stagger her apperances out. It would be nice to see her character throughout the season.

Maybe it is Heather Graham that makes the difference, but this is by far my favorite season of Scrubs to date.

It has been a good season.

I think Heather Graham has a future on the small screen. Between her appearance on "Arrested Development" last season and "Scrubs" this season, I'm thinking she's angling for a full time job on a sitcom.
I wouldn't be surprised if she has a sitcom deal in the works.

By 2004, the former Felcity Shagwell’s “It Girl” status had been revoked. She was sentenced to starring in the Rosemary’s Baby rip-off, Blessed. The one saving grace is that she appeared in an episode of Arrested Development that year.

I am going to save us all some time. From 2004-2009, Graham starred in one bomb after another. Most of them are movies you have never heard of. She had a nine-episode guest run on Scrubs which lead to her getting her own series, Emily’s Reasons Why Not. Her show was cancelled after only one episode had aired.
