View Full Version : Least Favorite Seasons Of Your Favorite Shows?
EmoJoe 07-26-2004, 06:31 PM What is your least favorite season of your favorite show? And why?
Mine would be:
Who's The Boss?- Season 7
I didnt like Billy, IMO he was unessasary.
Full House- Season 1
Season 1 was boring, they storylines were boring and it just wasnt as funny. The first season was REALLY corny, and half of Season 2 was cheesy too. Full House didnt really get good, IMO, until the middle to the end of Season 2. Id still watch it, though.
The Facts of Life- Season 9
It was obvious the writers got tired, and the girls were way too old to be living together.
Dean Winchester 07-26-2004, 06:48 PM Buffy-season 7 (you could tell Sarah Michelle Gellar was tired of doing it, and the writing seemed bored)
Charmed-season 5 (the show became way too kid-friendly this season, and too over-the top campy)
Sex And The City-season 6 (became a drama)
Facts Of Life-season 9 (drug on one season too long, the union between the 4 girls seemed to be over, and too much Pippa and Andy)
Roseanne-season 7 (a lot of people hate season 8 and 9, but I think season 7 was the "bad" season. Season 8 was a great rebound, and season 9 was very underrated, but most of season 7 just doesn't do it for me, and I didn't like it much then either)
Will and Grace Fanatic 07-26-2004, 10:49 PM Roseanne-season 9 was the last season. seemed like you were watching a totally different show then the other 8 seasons. Was decent season but no where near as good as the past 8 seasons.
Will and Grace-season 6, didn't really have time to watch this season but from what I have seen there were only 3 or 4 episodes of season 6 that were laugh out loud funny.
db108108 07-27-2004, 12:30 AM I used to lie W&G, but after Grace got married I sort of lost interest. I picked up on episodes form here and there last season, but the show seems to have really lost its way; the characters are like charactures or what they were about 3 years ago. Karen has gone from bubbly drunken man eater to alcoholic drug addicted bisexual. Where did that come from anyway? I clearly remember in early seasons Karen saying that women didn't do it for her, now all of the sudden she's asking every woman she meets if they want to neck.
Also, what happened to Rosario? I suspected they would cut her down after her shoplifting charge, but they cut her out completely.
And I'm not sure it it was last season, but the episode with Madonna was HORRIBLE. Madonna is NOT a good actress. Rather than casting for ratings, the show should be casting for quality.

you know, I can't stand W&G, but that episode, I actually did tape. Why? I watched it because of Madonna, just like I watched it the times Cher appeared
James 07-27-2004, 02:10 AM The Waltons: Seasons 8 and 9 (1979-81). Goodbye Michael Learned, hello Cousin Rose! :sleep2: They might as well have renamed it The Burtons. If Rose and her two grandchildren weren't around the kids were running the place. (They were good for just one episode and became tiresome after that.)
The Wonder Years: Season 6 (1992-93). There are only two episodes from that year I still like (the Christmas :tree: and New Years Day episodes--both holiday episodes that rarely air--DUH! :p ). The relationship between Kevin and Winnie was a far cry from the "glory days" of the first four seasons.
I am Roboto 07-27-2004, 03:13 AM Roseanne - Season 9
Very different from all other seasons. First few eps & finale IMO are o.k., otherwise, bad.
All in the Family - Season 9
Much slower-paced. Too much Stephanie.
Archie Bunker's Place - Season 2
Very slow-paced. It just wasn't that funny.
Cheers - Season 1
Cheers really got going in S2, IMO.

Plus John Stamos had that ugly mullet!
Anyway, I say season 8 for FH. That episode where Michelle buys the donkey was just too much.
I Love Lucy- Season 6. Didn't like Connecticut.
I Dream of Jeannie- Season 1. I liked it when Roger was actually in on the secret.
Saved by the Bell- Senior Year! Tori...need I say more?

I agree.
About FH.... the first 3 years were the best, IMO.
For me....
The Cosby Show -- Seasons 7 and 8. UNNECESSARY!! Even though Olivia was in Season 6, it was alright with Denise there. Pam killed the show, and most of the last 2 seasons are unwatchable.
Roseanne -- If they had won the lottery (which was a great idea, IMO) -- and kept it realistic, it wouldve been great.
Even though their my least favorites -- Id still buy them on DVD.

Sometimes bringing in new characters works and is just fine, but in my opinion these additionals were awful and unnecessary.
Yeah I agree, I didnt like Season 7 of Whos The Boss? because of Billy. His addition was so unessasary.
Lady T 07-27-2004, 09:13 PM Welcome Back KotterThe Fourth and Final Season was just terrible, with Beau being one of the Sweathogs!!!What a Joke Which was not funny...
Barney Miller The First and Second Season..Just plain boring
spunkygirl 07-27-2004, 09:57 PM Boy Meets World, I would say Season 1 I like but I don't like it as much, cause I can't stand the character Minkus
Who's the Boss? Season 6, hated Kathleen, what a useless character
Lois and Clark: Season 3, the Season that Lois lost her memory and the Season of the "fake wedding"
Bewitched, all the Seasons with Darrin #2 IMO Dick York was irreplaceable, and the show shouldn't have gone on without him

Billy, too
And on Full House I never got why the writers added Vicki, she was a worthless character, I mean, she was there for 3 seasons just for for a broken engagement? Personally I think the final episode should have been Danny and Vicki getting married, at least Vicki would have been there for a reason....

Because a Danny/Vicki wedding wouldve been a way to end the series.
The finale they had just plan sucked.

The series finale SHOULD have been Danny and Vicki getting married.
And Tony and Angela's wedding should have been the finale of WTB?
The writers took Vicki out because they thought Danny and Vicki being married would hurt the premise of the show, thats why it should have been the finale.

I know I couldn't believe that was the finale.
I guess it was a last minute thing, cause they wanted to do a 9th Season but John Stamos said no to that, so they had to rush at the last minute to put something together.

Yeah thats how it was...
Classic TV Fanatic 07-27-2004, 10:55 PM The Andy Griffith Show ... any season beyond season 5. Don Knotts was the glue to the show and it fell apart when he left.
The Lucy Show - The Fourth Season.
The writing, No Vivian Vance, jumped the shark, the move to California .... need I say more?
Happy Days - Any season beyond season 7.
New characters (some were annoying and absolutely pointless), No Richie or Ralph, Less Potsie, More focus on Joanie/Chachi, ect.

I completely agree.
I'll buy the first 5 seasons on DVD.... but then it stops.
This is probably the only series I only plan on partially buying.

 :yeahthat

 :yeahthat Yeah Tony Danza didnt want them to get married cause it would have ruined the point of the show, but it would be the final episode/season anyway
Superstar 07-28-2004, 03:12 PM Sabrina, the Teenage Witch-Season 1, it just wasn't funny and it was boring. Season 7 wasn't funny either
Charmed-season 4, it was too much about Phoebe and Cole when it should have been about Paige
Friends-season 10, it just wasn't as funny (the finale wasn't funny at all)
What I Like About You-season 2, it was just a love triangle between Holly, Henry and Vince, it was more like a drama than a sitcom
Chambers 07-28-2004, 04:32 PM Cheers - season 10 (Rebecca and Sam trying to have a baby)
Roseanne - final season
Dean Winchester 07-28-2004, 04:39 PM Originally posted by Superstar

funny thing is... the Cole/Phoebe thing was the reason why season 4 was my favorite year of Charmed. Rather Cole than the show centering around Piper's baby like it does now.
Superstar 07-28-2004, 04:41 PM I never really was a fan of Phoebe or Cole so that was my main reason for disliking it. My fave character is Piper so I'm happy its revolving around her Wyatt and Chris:lol:
Cactus Jack 07-29-2004, 11:23 AM Happy Days- Im not really a fan of the 11th season, its good, but its not awesome. I do have some fav eps from it though, but it wasnt as good
snl fan 07-29-2004, 06:24 PM different strokes year 7 one bad ep. after another friends year 7 not as good as others and anght court year 9 just plain awful

Season 8 was ok, it had some great episodes, but most of Season 8 was about Michelle. Season 8 was probably my second least favortie season.
I agree with you about I Love Lucy, though.

Vicki was a LOT better than Gia's mom. Ugh. Vicki leaves and they hook Danny up with her??

Main reason: it centered around MICHELLE. barf

 That was when Lex kidnapped Lois and replaced her with the clone, and Clark married the Clone, then Lois loses her memory :(

I know I watched it in 1995-96, but that must have completely left my memory.
Sean Snow 07-30-2004, 01:52 AM Diff'rent Strokes - Season 7 & 8
I didn't like seasons 7 and 8 that much, although there were still some good episodes during that period. Maggie was okay, but Sam was annoying.
The Facts of Life - Season 9
Not nearly as good as previous seasons, IMO. Pippa was blah.
Laverne & Shirley - Season 8
It just wasn't that great without Shirley. Squiggy also didn't appear in many episodes, so both Laverne and Lenny didn't have their other half...
Three's Company - Season 8
The show's quality started to drop in season 7, and it continued to dip a little in season 8. Some of the episodes just aren't up to par with previous episodes from seasons 1 - 6.
benjamoon 07-30-2004, 01:33 PM I Love Lucy/The Dick Van Dyke Show/Get Smart - there is NO bad season, they are all equally good in quality
Mary Tyler Moore - Season 5
~ They didn't quite know what to do after Rhoda left and it fell apart for a season but the show rebounded somewhat in Season 6 and definately rebounded in Season 7
Bewitched - Season 7
~ All the Dick Sargent years suck but Season 7 is the worst of the bunch
Friends - Season 9
~ After a GREAT season 8 with Rachel's pregnancy, Season 9 fell flat but I do think they made a rebound in Season 10 with some classic episodes
Happy Days - Season 10
~ The year Joanie and Chachi left and we had all the weird characters including Flip and KC is UNWATCHABLE. It's not even the same show
CarJackSnyder 07-31-2004, 05:03 PM Friends - Season 9
~ After a GREAT season 8 with Rachel's pregnancy, Season 9 fell flat but I do think they made a rebound in Season 10 with some classic episodes
Yup:nod:
