Forget "make your own network" -- DVDs are the future of classic TV!!

So.... if you were the head of a TV company, what shows would you release on DVD -- and what special features would you include with them??

PZelda

I'd take over the damn Warner Bros. company.

I'd put Mama's Family out to DVD immediately and would include "Eunice", the 1982 CBS TV movie that was the pilot to Mama's Family, as a bonus. Bloopers and interviews would be awesome, too. :D

THat could go on the Season 1 DVD, since they only did 13 episodes that season.

Dean Winchester

well, considering we have to wait a year for a Simpsons season because of damn commentary, I personally would rather wait only 4-5 months for a bare-bones tv-DVD than a year for one loaded with extras. That's just me though

Chambers

I'd wait a little longer for good extras. I'm hoping that's the reason they still haven't announced the release of Cheers season 4. I'd include behind-the-scenes documentaries and the "Uncle Sam" lost episode....among other things. Anything but clipfests!

Id put LOTS of special feautures, and id release Full House on DVD. Id try to release the seasons as fast as I can. I would release Facts Of Life, too.

Dean Winchester

well, extras are nice, but usually who watches them more than once?

I'd rather have a great tv show on DVD with crappy extras, than have a crappy tv show with great extras, that's just me though

I agree. When I buy TV shows on DVD, I buy them for the show, not the extras. Yeah, the extras are a cool addition sometimes, but I'm not going to be watching them too often.

I'd run TV Adam Productions. I'd pay for the rights of different shows. That way I don't have to have just FOX shows or just Paramount shows.

I REALLY like the commentarys on The Simpsons DVDs, but thats just me.

The series seems to be edging out a little faster year by year.
First it was 12 months, right??
Then 11....
Then 10....
Maybe Season 5 will be in 8 (one month has already gone by)

I posted this make believe season set a little over a year ago. I already know it'll be 4 discs as opposed to 6, but hopefully they'll do almost as much of a good job with the extras as what I hoped for.
