It has been reported that Dakota Fanning has dropped out of the George Romero (sp?) directed Stephen King film "The Girl who Loved Tom Gordon". Supposidly, her new agent wants her to only do "oscar-caliber" roles. As much as I love Dakota and think that she should someday get an Oscar, the girl is only 10. Are they trying to beat the world record (which I believe is 12 with Tatum O'Neil, right?) or is it really all about money and/or superiority?

It's great that Dakota Fanning seems to take herself more seriously than most child actors (most kids would have no careers after films like Cat in the Hat and Uptown Girls)- giving good performances even if it's a bad film, but really- I think whoever it is in charge (manager, Mama Rose, Herself) is trying far too hard to present her as a prestigious and serious actress. There's no point in just working to get an oscar!!!

Your right, I hope Dakota does more than "Oscar-caliber" movies

She's a great actress, she shouldn't do ****ty movies anyways.
