Do you think if McLean Stevenson had stayed on M*A*S*H just a little bit longer, and Wayne Rogers left when he did, the producers would have killed off Trapper John?

Of course, if Trapper died, I think Hawkeye would have been more depressed than he was for Henry. Only since Trapper was his sidekick.

Also, do you think Henry and B.J. would have gotten along?

Wayne Rogers decided to leave during the Summer hiatus, so I think they would have just done the same kind of episode they did, with Trapper getting shipped home.

I hav often thought of what it would have been like if Henry Blake had stayed in command during the various cast changes. I would think that he would have evolved beyond the good natured bumbling commander he was, and become a more fatherly role model like Potter.
