As you probably know for those of you had watched the NBC or syndicated run, "The Golden Girls" had a nice musical bumper which was during the commercial breaks. As of now, Lifetime immediately cuts out the bumper.:( If you like to listen for the first time since Lifetime never aired it, click here to listen to the "Golden Girls" bumper. I taped these episodes back in the 80's/90's and yes Lifetime certainly does cut this out. What's even more discouraging for fans, is that they cut out the original ending credits. Towards the end of the run, there would be 30-60 second scenes that were hilarious that no one gets to see. For instance, when the credits roll for the "Mr. Gordon" episode where Blanche and Dorothy are on television as lesbians, there is a credit scene where one of the women from the other lesbian couple rings the doorbell. Dorothy opens the door, and the woman says:
"I heard about you and Blanche." to which Dorothy replies:
"Too soon. Too soon."
There are a lot of great scenes cut as well. And sometimes they cut this show so poorly that they actually cut a set up for a punchline. For instance, when Blanche reminisces about certain shildhood stories that had a profound influence on her, she talks about Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs. "Seven lonely men in a diamond mine." But then she also talks about Humpty Dumpty, and about all the kings horses and all the kinds men, etc. They cut that out of the Lifetime version, but they still keep Dorothy's line, "Blanche, how do you make it through an omelet?" It makes no sense unless you've heard the story that Blanche tells, which you don't. Hopefully this show will make it out to DVD soon.
Well, here are some images of those bumpers that Full House is talking about. I literally just took a picture of the TV screen, so the images aren't so great. Enjoy!

Those are GREAT!!! Thanks so much for posting them!!
I do hope that the DVD will include these end-credit portions of the show. I loved the one where Rose posed for the boudoir photos. In the end credits, a photographer was taking pictures of Sophia modelling around the house. It was great!!
I wish I could see those original tapes you have. That's a great treasure!!

Thanks RoseNylund for that remarkable bumper that it was used since I post that sound clip courtesy of the 80's TV Themes Supersite. I hope that I will make that "Golden Girls" bumper image as an avatar someday.:)

You're welcome. I started taping TGG when I first moved away from home to go to college. I was very homesick and needed some laughter. I decided to tape these so I could watch them when I needed a pick me up. And I just watched them over and over and over. And 15 years later, I am still watching. :happyface

Here is probably the rarest bumper. This is the Golden Palace bumper that was only used during the re-run of the "Seems Like Old Times" episode with Bea Arthur. The only reason they used it, I believe, is because they showed the two episodes back to back and didn't need to rebroadcast the opening credits half way through the broadcast. Enjoy!

Sorry for the bump of an old thread, but does anyone have an mp3 of the bumper jingle? There was another one I know.
