I'm trying the find the episode (name or number) where the CUnningham family lines up to watch TV, and all get in line behind each other to improve reception.

That episode was #15 "Knock around the block". Howard bought a color converter and I believe Joanie said something about it not looking right and Howard says "Well you should all be sitting where I am..." so they all line up and Joanie is in the back and still can't see :-)
