View Full Version : What shows that are absent from TV would you like to see on Nick@Nite?
Moonlit_Suburb 07-23-2004, 11:54 PM Which sitcoms that aren't currently being played on national channels would you like to see on Nick@Nite? Be realistic, it should be from the late '70s to early '90s. Also, these shows you pick can't have been a part of the N@N schedule in the past. New stuff only.
Some of the shows I want to see on there would be played very late at night/early in the morning, and probably given poor treatment. As long as they played the entire series once, or preferably twice, I'd be happy. (I'd be sure to record the entire series)
Blossom - (it'd be cool to watch this back-to-back with Fresh Prince, like they aired on NBC in the early '90s)
Growing Pains - (might be treated decently)
Silver Spoons - (see Growing Pains)
Just the Ten of Us - (i think this series only lasted like two seasons...it'd be cool of N@N to play all the episodes a few times)
Valerie/The Hogan Family, Small Wonder, Mr. Belvedere, Out of this World - (these shows would all probably get the early morning treatment)
barwars 07-24-2004, 12:02 AM I'd watch them all.... even Blossom.
Even though I can't stand Joey Lawrence.
But, I think they're moving ahead too fast for any of these to get picked up.
Although Growing Pains seems to fit their new style.
James 07-25-2004, 01:38 AM Let's see, that would be the following:
Coach
Diff'rent Strokes
The Monkees
Mork and Mindy
Our House
The Partridge Family
Perfect Strangers
State of Grace
WKRP in Cincinnati
The Wonder Years
factsoflife 07-25-2004, 01:47 AM I want The Facts Of Life back at N@N!
Also i second Blossom!
Growing Pains is ok, and would fit well...
Webster!
I did love Just The Ten Of Us!
Small Wonder and Out Of This world were great.
Its not absent from TV but Saved by the bell would fit in well at N@N.
Evening Shade. Loved that show. it seems tailor made for Nick@Nite.
Moesha and The Parenthood seem good for N@N.
California Dreams.

I thought the original question dealt with which shows were currently not on cable, regardless of their history on N@N, if any at all.

I agree with all your choices, I hope they pick up Growing Pains, they could do a Growing Pains, Who's the Boss block :D
I think the Hogan Family would be a great fit for N@N, as much as I love Silver Spoons, it just wouldn't fit N@N with their new "format" same with Just the Ten of Us :)

Why not? they are basically the same type of show as Full House/Whos The Boss/The Cosby Show.

Just The Ten of Us would fit.... but Silver Spoons would not.
Silver Spoons fit more when DS and FOL aired -- it was one of those series that had 80s written all over it.

I like Just the Ten of Us, I grew up with that show, but it just doesn't have the feel to it that GP and WTB do. I just couldn't see it doing well on N@N, they'd treat it like they did FT. I mean I couldn't see FT fitting in on N@N anymore either.
Silver Spoons might fit okay, but they didn't treat it well the few times they aired it., so I doubt now would be any different.
factsoflife 07-25-2004, 09:59 PM You guys are probally right. I'd also like to see 227 on N@N.

 If it weren't for WTB and Wings, I'd say adios N@N.
Mr. Television 07-25-2004, 11:25 PM Bring back Silver Spoons, The Hogan Family, Just The Ten Of Us, and Gimme A Break..
Pavan 07-25-2004, 11:38 PM Personally, I do not like the route that Nick@Nite has gone with the 90s shows already (Full House, Roseanne, Wings, Coach, Murphy Brown, Fresh Prince); they should come in another 3-5 years, not now.
They need to air ALF, Silver Spoons, Small Wonder, Mr. Belvedere, Perfect Strangers; mid-late 80s type of shows. Diff'rent Strokes and Facts of Life also sort of fit that.

Ditto!!!!!!
Im already saying it, just gonna tape WTB? and once im done ill watch FH on ABC Fam
EmoJoe 07-25-2004, 11:42 PM No show, I hate nIck@Nite
TVJunkie101 07-26-2004, 08:16 AM I'm not really in the "hate N@N" mode anymore. I've watched Roseanne on it a lot lately, and I've even tuned in to The Cosby Show every now and then. But I agree, Wings and Who's the Boss? are the only reasons I really tune in to N@N. I can always catch Roseanne on Oxygen, and usually do.
I have to agree with Pav. N@N jumped the gun in a big way. Although they've lucked out and 90s shows have done good for them, I still think they could've gone the slower route and brought on more 80s-centric shows and work their way up to the 90s shows. I mean, Facts of Life and Diff'rent Strokes, both very 80s shows, were hits for them. Alf did really well during that mini-marathon in 2001. So, IMO, I think shows like WTB? and the upcoming Murphy Brown (which simply put, belongs on Oxygen or back on Lifetime) might have done better.
