Does anyone know what Janet did to her face during the last couple seasons of the show? I think it was a nose job, but not sure. She was beautiful and then all of a sudden she looked like Marlo Thomas! What's up with that?

Having seen photos taken throughout Joyce's career dating from school plays to the present, I've noticed the features appear the same both then and now, which leads me to believe the variation is due to the way her make up was being worn during the last season of TC. Being a student of make up techniques for theatre and film, I've seen various ways in which a person's appearance can change slightly or dramatically by the simplest touches of highlights, shadows, etc., depending on the effect one wants to achieve. In Chris Mann's book, "Come and Knock on Our Door," Joyce points out how she wished to change Janet's appearance from one season to the next, so as to further accentuate the growth of the character over the years (her hair and make up change over 1979 is another good example). I did see Joyce do a play in Canada recently, and am happy to say she was looking vivacious and lovely as usual. Anyway, I hope I've been helpful! All the best, zz
