This has to be the biggest sitcom studio set ever. The terminal is two stories, then you go through Joe's office into the gigantic hangar that can fit a plane. Did they use a special studio for this?

No it was about the same size as any other studio on NBC... I believe it was bigger than the cheers studio though. And they eventually got rid of the 2nd story, which is why they never showed it in any of the late episodes. It was however put back on the last few episodes, but I don't know if it was used.

No, but the outside shots of the airport on Wings are those of the actual Nantucket airport. It's called Nantucket Memorial Airport.
