well, Maroon 5 are a different type of pop than someone like Aaron Carter or Hilary Duff. They are more along the lines of someone like Matchbox Twenty or Three Doors Down who record "adult" pop, stuff that is popular with people in their 20's and 30's and gets airplay on Mix style station. While popular, they appeal mainly to different audience than those who listen to Hilary or the Simpson sisters.

Maroon 5 is more of an indie-poppish sound, to me, more of an adult pop. The kind of pop that ranges along the lines with Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Madonna, etc. The classic pop music that I love.

There is a very big difference between pop acts like Maroon 5 and the divas you listed, and the pop of Aaron Carter, Hilary Duff, Avril Lavinge, Jessica and Ashlee Simpson and all the other Radio Disney/TRL style pop acts. I think to dislike those type of "pop" artists and like someone like Maroon 5 really can't be compared, it'd like apples and oranges.

Maroon 5 is more of rockish pop. and who cares if she does like some pop. i really hate hip hop and rap but i like eminem and the black eyed peas, it doesn't mean i'm a hypocrite.

same here, I hate hip hop, but I do like quite a bit from Outkast

Maroon 5's music is really good, I like the album "Songs about Jane", really good. "This Love" is better though.
