The show was inconsistent on Dr. Sigmund Freud: in episode #105 ("Dear Sigmund"), Major Freedman, the shrink, wrote a letter to Freud -- who died in 1939! In eppie #110 ("Exorcism"), one of the surgeons said that Freud's ghost visited his wife. Anyway, both episodes are classics.

I never thought it was Freedman's intent to send the letter. He was just writing to himself. Instead of "Dear Self" or "Dear Diary" or something like that, he chose to address his remarks to a man whose work had been a major influence on his own life and work, much like an artist might pen a few thoughts to Vincent van Gogh or a person of a strong religious beliefs might write to God. It's a little odd, but I'm sure there are people who do it.

I agree. That letter to Freud was more like a diary. If you watch the episode again, you'll get it.:wave:
