View Full Version : The Whacker Case
Mystery-Lover 07-20-2004, 10:14 AM Did anyone here see the Whacker case on 7/14/04? They were an elderly couple who were harassed for ten years by a suspicious man. First their house would get ransacked. Then the man tricked the old woman into letting him use her phone. Her husband wasn't home so she was assaulted, and later woke in her kitchen bound and gagged. On the wall the assaulter wrote in crayon “cheaper, but will do.” The police couldn’t make any sense of this message and neither could the Whackers. During the first assault the man stole many items like a gun, a movie camera, and many more. About four months after the assault all of their items were returned and no one ever saw the man bringing the items. The man started give phone calls now. They were very threatening. The Whackers even changed their phone number but still the unknown man found it out. Then there was banging outside and during this the old lady received her second assault. She survived the attack. After that the Whackers got lights built outside. And notes appeared on their front porch saying, “your lights are a laugh,” and “scum bag” and stuff like that. The Whackers then had people patrolling outside of their house. The unknown man left another note without anyone seeing him come.
This has to be one of the most bizarre cases I ever saw. The guy’s picture was so scary. I hope he gets caught one day.
UMfan77 07-20-2004, 12:09 PM I have that story on tape, very weird. I wonder if the Wacker's are still alive. If they aren't, may they rest in peace once and for all. If they're alive, I wonder if they are still being terrorized.
Babydollz24 07-20-2004, 04:17 PM I also saw this story and I was surprised to see that they were from stark county, ohio because that is where I live, but they never mentioned what part of stark county they are from, like for example, what small city? And I forget what their first names are cuz I could probably find out if they are still alive. Also the main cities in stark county are Canton and Massillon.
Mijada 07-20-2004, 07:00 PM That case always bothered me. I mean why on earth would someone want to go out of their way to harrass an elderly couple like that. Some people are just plain sick.
Mystery-Lover 07-20-2004, 08:58 PM Yeah I know what you mean, Mijada. Why would someone harrass an elderly couple, why the Whackers? Very sick!
I also have this segment on tape just like you UMfan77.
JohnMill 07-22-2004, 01:04 AM I always thought that this case was a hoax - it is just too unbelieveable. I think the gist of it - Dorothy getting attacked might be true but the repeat offenses I think are largely hoaxes.
Later.
Mystery-Lover 07-22-2004, 09:18 AM Maybe the whole thing was a hoax JohnMill.
Anyways, doesn't this case remind any of you of another case. The Whacker case reminds me of the Cindy James case. In both cases they were harassed for a long time. In both cases they were harassed at home, a place where you are supposed to feel safe. And in both cases they were attcked, Dorothy in the Whacker case, and Cindy James in the other. One huge difference though is that Cindy James is dead now. The Whackers may still be alive, and may still be constantly harassed.
If you ask me Cindy James was murdered. She did not commit suicide.
JohnMill 07-22-2004, 03:08 PM Yeah that one I believe is for real. I think she was really being stalked by someone although the whole case is just out of this world weird.
But nothing beats the weirdness of this case that was on yesterday of a young man from Canada who went on a several day oddessy to the United States finally ending up in Tennessee where he was found dead. He too thought he was being stalked by someone
Later.
Mystery-Lover 07-22-2004, 03:15 PM I believe his name was Blaire Adams. That case was too weird! It would be freaky if a stalker followed him all the way from British Columbia, Canada to Knoxville, Tennessee. This case is truely bizarre! Maybe he just was really paranoid, and thought that someone was trying to kill him, and by coincidence wound up dead anyway by a killer from Tennessee. And it was just plain nasty and disgusting that he was nude from the waist down. If it was a man, I would guess he would be a homosexual killer, or maybe he just wanted to get the money out of his pockets.
magellan333 07-23-2004, 12:40 PM Maybe this case is similair to the recent Wisconsin case where the girl faked her abduction. I haven't seen this one aired, but maybe these people fabricated the entire thing for some reason or another.
Mystery-Lover 07-23-2004, 02:15 PM Which case involves the Wisconsin girl who faked her abduction? Can you explain? Can anyone explain?
You know we've been talking about all of these different cases when it was originally about the Whacker case. Wouldn't it be strange if the Whackers were harassed by the same stalker who killed Cindy James and Blaire Adams? It would be so weird if all three cases were connected. They all involve a stalker, it may be the same stalker in all three cases. If this was true it would be so bizarre. But all three of these cases look like they will never be solved, so we will probably never know the truth for all of these cases.
magellan333 07-23-2004, 11:04 PM The case involving the Wisconsin girl never aired on Unsolved Mysteries. It was on the news recently (past few months). Too many things didn't add up and she confessed that she had staged the entire thing.
