Which celebrity would you say has the strangest fanbase? Believe it or not, I don't think it's Cher or Tammy Faye but rather Dakota Fanning. There's lots of pervs out there and they all seem to fancy Ms. Fanning.

yeah, probably a lot of creepy pedofiles. Where did you find out about this? Do you have a source?

Kind of, being a fan and all (although not a creepy pedophile, I know a few other fans who kind of are :p )

Also, I've read some Dakota Fanning fanfiction that literally made me vomit.

I heard that country/bluegrass singer Ricky Skaggs has a very, very weird fan base. Almost spooky if you ask me. Anyone ever seen his video "Country Boy at Heart"? It was filmed entirely in New York City. And it was filmed mostly on a subway train. Maybe most of his fans are NYC sewer rats or bumbs that sleep in subway stations in the Big Apple. And another thing, If you're a true Ricky Scaggs fan, then you must either be a bum, hobo, or a hillbilly from the coal mines of Kentucky. Of course not many people listen to him anyways. That's why he's now stuck in Branson, Missouri. Also, BoxCar Willie has a very, and I mean very strange cult following.

Dakota does seem to have some freaky fans

You haven't seen crazy fans until you've seen Hanson fans. Sometimes I'm so ashamed to even be one, because people assume we're ALL like that. I swear there's some psycotic Hanson fans that don't deserve to be fans in the first place. They make going to the concerts a nightmare and spoil all the fun for the rest of us who just want to have a good time.

I said some of her fans are freaky, I didn't mean all of them and I didn't mean you either. I've just come across a few people who are a little......weird towards her

She's queen to us!:) She just has dedicated fans we're not that freaky (not all of us):)

I've read several stories on Barry Manilow's fan following. It's a huge group of women who travel endlessly to see him when he tours. They sound positively possessed.

I think The Wiggles fans are a little nuts over them. Most moms attend concerts just to have dirty and impure thoughts while the kids enjoy themselves. If you go to the msg board you can read some posts that will leave you  on some of the things those women are willing to do to get them a piece of Wiggle :D

And I'm not even talking about Trekkies.

Ah yes, Fannilows. I think anyone who has a group of of fans who make play-on-word names is a little obsessed.

I understand that wacko Charles Manson has a huge fanbase, and lots of people still love OJ Simpson.

Then there's those Beatle's fans.... ;)

Actually, that was a skit on some show (a long time ago, making fun of Trekkies). I don't remember what show but I remember that Alex himself made an appearence in it and the skit also featured a young Camryn Manheim.

You forgot Claymates. :p Each one of us is assigned a number, but they stopped giving them out after it reached the 6,000 mark. JPL has 'Pensalesmen'.. but a lot of AI'ers have fanbases that give themselves names.

OMG Ill never forgot the Conan episode where Triumph went to the opening of the Star Wars movie. Now thats obsession. And some guy from a LOTR group came to 'crash' it. That was one of the funniest episodes ever.

On these boards it is crazy with Clay Aiken and Raven.

Clay is good singer and should have won AI, but really, is he the greatest musical personality to come out in the last 10 years?
No.

And this crap with Raven is out of control.

She is a terrible, terrible actress and regardless of the fact that her fans are so wrapped up in their own dementia, she is gaining a ton of weight. Yes she is.
Holy crap people, you don't even know her- what fantasies do you build around people you actually know?

But it doesn't matter if she does gain weight. She can weigh 500 pounds and I'll still be her fan, it doesn't make a difference to me.

What do u base that sentence on?

I base it on all the denials I have seen on the Raven boards and absolute bizarre way you all go ballistic as soon as somebody insults her. And they do it just to see you get crazy.

And you don't dissapoint.

Nancy McKeon has a pretty strange fan base, especially with people obsessed with her and ladies wanting to look exactly like her. There was this one lady with brown or hazel(yellowish-gold) colored eyes and brown curly hair who wanted to straighten her hair out, wear hair extentions, and put on lime-green colored contacts just so she could look like Nancy McKeon. Now if that's not a strange fan base, I don't know what is. Okay, so the Star Trek, Star Wars, and Alex Trebec cults come a close 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
And of course, Indiana Jones has a weird cult following, too. Followers include Pitfall Harry, Lara Croft, The one dude from Simon and Simon, and anyone donning a lite brown leather jacket and short brimmed cowboy hat. Indiana Jones would rand 5th in my book for weird cult followings.

ELVIS PRESLEY! Just look at all the Elvis Presley impersinaters running around in Las Vegas. If that's not the wiedest cult in the world, I don't know what is. There's even black Elvis impersonators, Mexican and Puerto Rican Elvis impersonators, and the very wierd Japanese Elvis impersonators.
There's just too many people in Las Vegas that wants to be Elvis.
And what's really scary, I've even seen a lady once who was an Elvis impersonator.

List of celebrities that has impersonated or starred in a movie as Elvis Presley or Elvis Presley impersonators:
--Kurt Russell.
--Nicolas Cage.
--Kevin Costner.
--Dale Midkiff.
--John Cusack.
--John Goodman.
--Christian Slater.
--Kevin Pollack.
--David Arquette.
Just to name a few.
