A spinoff with Kitty and Red could be good.

Have about them entering the 80s with no kids in the house. Eric is either in college far away or married and far away- always a chance for guest appearances. Laurie is off somewhere.

I would think Kitty and Red would move into a new house, just to get away from the whole mystique of the basement and all the memories there of the old show.

So you could have new neighbors and have the show about them facing the new decade and the situation of being alone without the kids.
