I had to read it in 9th grade. We didn't read the whole thing, we skipped a number of chapters, because it was so big. The only good thing about reading it was seeing the 1997 movie adaptation with Gwyneth Paltrow :drool:

I liked the book. I've seen the first half of the original 1964 movie, then the teacher switched it to the 90s version with Balthazar Getty. The book made me want to get a pet pig.

When we saw the movie in English in 9th grade I wanted to see the one with Leo and Claire and not the one with Olivia Hussey and Leonard Whiting. We didn't see it, though.

I saw Hussey in "It." I thought she was the one who played the older Beverly but I read online that she played Bill Denbrough's wife.

One thing that LOTF did to me was give me strange dreams. Ever since we read it in 10th grade in Fall 2000, I have been having dreams that I am physically abusing pigs. I still have them even today.
