What's the most you'd pay for a TVDVD?

For me.... it depends on the show.
Something like Cheers, Frasier, Seinfeld or Saturday Night Live -- anything.

The most I've ever paid is $51.99 for The Dick Van Dyke Show - Season 3.... which is ironically -- my best TVDVD, special features wise.

$30-55 is about what I'd pay, and it depends on how old the show is as well. I mean like if it was Happy Days, I wouldn't pay $50 for it since it's more than 10 years old.

I've paid more, unfortunately, for the outrageously overpriced Sopranos seasons, and the Freaks & Geeks Yearbook Edition, which is actually worth it. I've held off buying My So Called Life partly because of the price, but I'm such a junkie when it comes to this stuff, I'll pretty much pay whatever they charge if I want it bad enough.

I spent $127 on the Freaks And Geeks Yearbook Edition but ended up sending it back. Twice.

I don't think I'll ever spend more than $60 on a DVD set and even then only if it is something oh-so-worth it. $40 sounds like the real deal, though.

For Cheers or Frasier, I'd sell a kidney if I had to.

For other shows I like enough to see again, the highest I would go is $40-45. I don't really like to buy things to begin with.

I wouldn't spend over $50.00 on any tvdvd. I don't care if it was Seinfeld season 4 if it costs more than $50.00 I'm not interested. I heard that the first season of I Love Lucy cost more than $100.00. That's just plain crazy! Frankly, I wouldn't spend a quarter on it, but I can't see even imagine the biggest fans of ILL spending $100.00 just for 1 season.

it depends on the show. if it were Maude or The Jeffersons I'd pay up to 50.

Less than $60.

I've spent $50 on TV DVD's, unfortunately.

My best bargain would have to have been when I brought Freaks & Geeks (the poor man's edition) for $30, $40 off its retail price.

How did I do that? Well, I had about $25 in Replay certificates at the time, and I had my Replay card with me...so that worked out pretty well. The 2nd best would have to have been when I brought Cheers Season 2 for about $20. Gift certificates came into play in this one, too.

It depends on the quantity of the set. For example, if the set cost $50 bucks and it had only 13 episodes, then I wouldn't buy. Now, if the set cost $40 bucks and included 40 episodes, then I buy it.

I believe in .... a dollar or less per episode.

The highest I'd pay would probably be between $50-$60. That would be if I wanted it bad enough. I wouldn't pay that for just anything.

i'm cheap i guess, i have a hard time parting with more than $30 for a TV DVD, maybe thats why i dont own that many either.

If it isnt a show that i already KNOW that i'll enjoy every episode, or if it seems over-priced, i'm not gonna buy it.

$50 for an hour-long series, $40 for a half-hour

$62.99. Amazon.com's price for American Dreams - Season One (Extended Music Edition). I've been watching the show since it premiered and liked enough that I said if they ever released it on dvd, I'd get it. 63 bucks is a steep price, but like I said, I'm a junkie. I'm getting it.

For WKRP in Cincinnati I would pay up to $70.00 if the show was with the original music, uncut.

With extras, like commentary, bloopers and behind the scenes stuff I'd pay up to $100.00.

Yeah, it's a sickness.

As a general rule, I don't like pay more about $6 (Canadian) for each hour of programming. I'll just rent them or tape them otherwise. You can only spend so much. Many of my favorites are British shows, but they are just too expensive, despite a high quality for the most part. That $6 doesn't include extras, which are just that, extra. I'd rather not have extras if it raises the price, as I buy mostly older shows. Some sets, Gilligan 1, Dallas 1&2, and Kung Fu 1 come to mind, are only about $2 per hour of show.

Thats a good rule.
Some people would only spend $1 per episode.... which is kind of stupid.... because they'd pay $15/$20 for a movie which is only 3 or 4 times longer.

$100 would seem like a bargain to me to get the extras
so to a wkrp fan its a bargain not a sickness.

The most i've spent on a dvd was $50 for frasier...When seinfeld drops...i will pay $120+ for the first three seasons...I already have $50 in replay cerificates so that will cover most of seinfelds cost.
