View Full Version : TV DVD you predict will sell well? barwars 07-18-2004, 07:19 PM besides the obvious Seinfeld.... which other soon to be released TVDVDs do you think will sell well?? Chain Gang Member 07-18-2004, 07:27 PM Three's Company-Season 3(especially if the extras are good) spunkygirl 07-18-2004, 07:35 PM Boy Meets World Season 1 will def. sell well. Happy Days and Laverne and Shirley Seasons 1 I have a feeling those will sell well. Quantum Leap Season 2 is def. gonna sell well. I think Home Improvement might do well too. vashti1999 07-18-2004, 07:35 PM Though I'm not sure I'll get it, I think Boy Meets World will be big, as well as Golden Girls since that's one of the top requests on tvshowsondvd.com. spunkygirl 07-18-2004, 07:38 PM I also think Dallas Seasons 1 and 2 will do well. As well as Sledge Hammer Season 1, Knight Rider Season 1 I think will do well also. If it's ever released I def. think Lois and Clark will be a big seller. AtlantaBravesFan29 07-18-2004, 09:19 PM Three's Company: Season 3 Happy Days: Season 1 Laverne and Shirley: Season 1 What's Happening: Season 2 Sanford and Son: Season 5 I think I heard something on the Golden Girls site that the first season will be out in November although TVShowsOnDVD.com has yet to pull it from the top 10 and add a new show to their list. Moonlit_Suburb 07-18-2004, 09:24 PM Alf: Season 1 Adamantium 07-18-2004, 11:13 PM I think "Sliders: Seasons 1 & 2" will sell well. It's got a huge cult following. All the fans agree that the first two seasons are the best. I don't know if seasons 3 thru 5 will do well, but I'm almost positive this first set will. "ALF" is also very popular and I predict high sales. Dean Winchester 07-19-2004, 01:11 AM Happy Days Golden Girls Diff'rent Strokes (I can see it selling well enough for a season 2 to be greenlighted) Ellen (well, for A&E standards) James 07-19-2004, 01:18 AM I have heard that the DVD for The Waltons Season 1, released May 11, has been selling well. Several Wal*Marts ran out of stock, as a matter of fact. :) vashti1999 07-19-2004, 01:26 AM Originally posted by BuffySlayer79 Diff'rent Strokes (I can see it selling well enough for a season 2 to be greenlighted) I don't doubt there's gonna be a season 2 of this. I voted for DS in the last poll Sony had asking what we want on dvd, I figure alot of people voted for it. Lady T 07-19-2004, 01:29 AM Sanford and Son Season Five What's Happening!! I'm sure one day we will be at a point where every show is coming out on DVD, but I'm sure there's at least 50 other 1990's sitcoms that have not yet been announced on DVD yet that are more in-demand than The Jeff Foxworthy Show. It only ran 2 seasons, on 2 different networks, and it was never a critical hit [like how Sports Night only ran 2 seasons, but it had a critical and cult following that merited it's release on DVD]. I never thought of it as something a lot of people would want to own. But... I'm sure there are Jeff Foxworthy fans out there dying to own it... and it's them who the DVD set is for. Im personally NOT a fan of Foxworthy, but he does have the highest selling comedy record of all time, I wouldnt be too suprised if those sold pretty well. Not great numbers, but enough to justify the second season. I would NEVER buy it, because I hate rednecks, and that's what his comedy is all about. I hate to sound like Solomon, but that would be pretty sad if Jeff Foxworthy does good enough for a season 2, while Mary Tyler Moore, Twin Peaks, Malcolm In The Middle and Larry Sanders season 2's will never happen barwars 07-21-2004, 05:18 PM Originally posted by BuffySlayer79 I hate to sound like Solomon, but that would be pretty sad if Jeff Foxworthy does good enough for a season 2, while Mary Tyler Moore, Twin Peaks, Malcolm In The Middle and Larry Sanders season 2's will never happen i completely agree. vashti1999 07-22-2004, 12:28 AM Originally posted by BuffySlayer79 The Jeff Foxworthy Show. I never thought of it as something a lot of people would want to own. You might be a redneck if ... you're a Jeff Foxworthy fan! The entire hilarious first season on 2 discs co-stars fellow comedian Jay Mohr and Haley Joel Osment. That's part of an ad in an email I got promoting some upcoming releases. I bet the co-stars may also be a reason people would want to check it out, to see a young Haley Joel Osment before his Oscar nomination, or Jay Mohr. However, I for one, am not a redneck, so I won't be buying it, but good for people who want it. barwars 07-22-2004, 07:55 PM Originally posted by vashti1999 You might be a redneck if ... you're a Jeff Foxworthy fan! He's probably my second least favorite comedian.... second only to Foxworthy himself. Not to mention I could never stand Haley Joel Osment (except on the old 90s sitcom with Ed Asner.... but I forget what thats called) Classic TV Fanatic 07-22-2004, 08:52 PM I think the season one set of The Andy Griffith Show will sell very well. It should not be a surprise though, because the show has a very large fan base and all. It is being delayed due to music problems, not poor sales. Fox has said they will pay for the music and release the other seasons, they just don't know when. The other shows you mentioned, those sold poorly. (I'm not tryin' to sound like a jerk, just stating facts) :p Back to the original topic: I bet That '70s Show: Season 1 will sell like hotcakes. (its one of the most-requested shows to be released on DVD) Ant-Lox 07-24-2004, 09:21 AM Seinfeld will sell tons of copies. barwars 07-24-2004, 09:30 AM Originally posted by Ant-Lox Seinfeld will sell tons of copies. That's why I said "besides the obvious Seinfeld" and if it doesn't become the highest selling TVDVD.... the whole industry will be shocked. |
