View Full Version : Who agrees that it's too early for VH-1 to be airing I Love the 90's?

I mean 1999 was just 5 years ago. Atleast wait until 2010. I was a teenager during the 90's and i'm not even in my 30's yet and VH-1 is already doing I love the 90's-lol Too early in my opinion.

You should've posted that poll a month ago. YES! It was WAY too early for them! Plus, it was VERY poorly done. :thumbsdow

It makes me feel old. :(

Geez... it's only 4 1/2 years out of it. They should at least wait til people born in the Late 80s and 90s are adults.

I partly agree with I am Him. I don't think it was too early, but they really could have done a better job...meaning they left out a lot of important stuff. The things they covered were great, though.

these are all reasons why I Love The 90's disapointed

1. VH1 doesn't have the patience to wait a few more years until there's actually 90's nostaglia, the late 90's are still fairly recent

2. They purposely skipped too much so they'd have stuff or "I Love The 90's Pt. 2", how can they talk movies and leave out Titanic (the biggest movie of all time), Scream (the movie was a cultural touchstone, resurrecting horror into the mainstream and also ushering in a "90's teen movie" wave) and The Lion King (the biggest animated movie of the decade, and was the biggest ever until Finding Nemo), how can they talk tv and leave out Seinfeld (the defining series of the 1990's), Friends (also a defining 90's series) and The Simpsons (the longest running series of the 1990's, which begat the entire "adult cartoon" genre).

3. It seemed like the commentators were trying too hard to be funny instead of actually letting it come naturally.

4. Too much negativity from some commenters. In the past, it was funny, but Chris Booker's anti-Hanson rant (oh yea, J. Lo is a true musical prodigy) and Usher calling boybands ******* (yea, songs like Confessions, Burn and U Got It Bad are true fist-pumping testosterone fests... if he hates Justin Timberlake so badly... why did he remake CRY ME A RIVER and call it BURN?) went from funny to just downright mean

If I love the 90's aired in 2040, it would still be too early for I love the 90's. The 90's sucked. The music was garbage. The movies sucked. And, with a few exceptions, the television was loaded with useless crap. VH1 did two different I love the 80's, they should have done another I love the 70's before they even thought of doing I love the 90's. The 70's and 80's ruled, the 90's drooled.

Compared to the 70s and 80s, the 90s did suck as far as most things go.

The best thing in the 90s was the INTERNET becoming more avaliable. :woohoo:

Talk about running a show into the ground, look how many times it's showing:

Today:10
Monday:4
Tuesday:Not Airing
Wednesday:7
Thursday:4
Friday:3
Saturday:Not Airing

Total Times It Will Air This Week:28

Not to mention the numerous times it has ran since it premiered.

Wait until VH1 acquires the reruns of American Idol. That's a guarantee.

From The Snapple Lady.

Anyways, if you saw this weeks "Best Week Ever", they were playing a drinking game and some guy was like, "Anytime Hal Sparks does an impression on I Love The whatever he's doing, take a drink!" and it shows Hal with a stuffed Pikachu doing an impression... Pikachu was 90's. It wasn't aired. There's a part 2.

Yes! I noticed that too! In the other shows it was funny, but this time they took it way too far. And you were dead on with your 1-3. It was just a mess of a show.

Someone wrote the Snapple Lady a letter, and she was reading it, the person asked if there were gonna be anymore I Love (whatever) series? and she said Stay Tuned if I remember right, and that leads me to believe there will probably be more with the 90's, and possibly the 50's and 60's.

They were very harsh. Yeah about Hanson I agree, how many of them write their own music, sing, and play their own instruments

I thought most of the stuff they were saying was inappropriate, yeah most was hilarious but that was it was from Hal Sparks, who didn't get mean like the others did :)

well, the only two times that really irked me was when Chris Booker (J. Lo's brother in law) went on for 5 minutes about how untalented and terrible Hanson were.... Hanson certainly were not among my favorite music artists, but they wrote their songs and played their instruments, whereas Jennifer Lopez (who I doubt Chris would've bashed) is perhaps one of the all time most talentless "singers" in history. And I also hated it when Usher bashed the teen pop movement, because it's funny that he is calling BSB and N'Sync names when all of his songs are ballads 90% of the time (Usher calling BSB ******* doesn't quite have the same ring as it would if someone like DMX or James Hetfield would), and one of his recent #1 singles ripped off Justin Timberlake, someone he always bashes in interviews.

Most of the time it's funny, but those two times, I wanted to punch them.

finally someone agrees with me on this when i say that the end of the 2000s is NOT to late. they just took a good idea and felt the need to pound it into the ground. i personally loved i love the 80s and i love the 70s i even like i love the 80s strikes back. BUT instead of just leaving it at that they had to do and i love the 90s just to make money. i wouldnt be surprised if they even did an i love the early 2000s or something like that. ohno:
