Right, almost forgot. I'm Clarisse. That's Clarisse with an E. Not Clariss, not Clarice, not Clarissa. Now that I've wasted everybody's time clarifying that, you can just call me Chambers.

I'm also addicted to Frasier, but I'm still in the denial phase.

Hi everyone, my name is Alice.

I'm an obsessive Frasier fan and Frasier completist since 1998. I have every episode taped, with only a couple of gaps in Season 10 - and they're driving me crazy!!! I also have two books, and have stalked many a Frasier fanfic writer with praise-drenched e-mails.

I've been an infrequent poster on the board for a long while, but now that Frasier is no more I hope to do my bit to help keep the board active. Nice to meet you all!

I love watching Frasier on DvD's and my videos! I am so addicted to Niles and Daphne, it's not even funny...(well, it is, but you know what I mean!) I've got so many pictures of Niles, Daphne, Frasier and Lilith on my wall, you would have thought I created the show myself! It's insane - but I do love watching it and laughing my butt off! http://img11.photobucket.com/albums/v34/TroyandLindseyFan/killingme.gif - It's great!

well...it's quite a long story as you can imagine..but I had just started my freshman year here at Siena College which is about half an hour from dhp's hometown of Saratoga Springs. I had heard through the school that there was going to be another Memory Walk for Alzheimers held over at the race track in Saratoga. Anyway, not only did i get myself there, but I also got a vip pass to go meet him. I actually ended up meeting him on the walk itself...surprisingly he was walking with everyone else and i managed to just work my way up to him.

I said "David" and got his attention....the conversation is such a blur now..and i'm certain i said some stupid thing along the lines of "i love you..i'm one of your biggest fans." i do remember mentioning to him that i had seen his play in l.a. "six dance lessons in six weeks" (a topic for another story) and he was pretty impressed by this. He took a picture of the two of us with my throw away camera....and i even have a signed picture of him that I got after the walk............

i felt like such a DORK! but i knew i had to capitalize on the fact that this was probably the only time I would be so close to him...i had loved him for years....so why not!? lol :)

Good afternoon everybody.

I've just officially joined this place. :)

I'd say something a little more insightful and interesting, but there simply isn't time (if I could get the DeLorean back from the garage, I'd have all the time in the world, but it's having repairs.)

So goodbye and good listening!

Thank you, Frasierfan.

I see you're a fellow Brit. How did you get interested in "Frasier"?

I only really started watching it regularly in 2002, although I'd seen a few episodes before that and remember liking them. I'm 16, and I tend to find that not many people my age like "Frasier." Some do - but I've got the impression that it's more an "adult" thing. Or maybe I just live in a non-Frasier area?

I'm a big fan of "Cheers" too, and on holidays to America to see the relatives (my Mum's American) I've seen quite a few shows of "Family Ties", which also looks good (and the theme song is fantastic.)

Frasierfan1983
12-03-2004, 02:51 PM
Ah great, another Brit!

I'm 21, and I've been a Frasier fan since 1997 (began taping it in 1998), so I was well into it by the time I was your age. :)

When I was at school, it definitely lost out to 'Friends' among people my age, but I did know quite a lot of people my age who were at least casual viewers.

'Frasier' is seen as a more "mature" comedy, in this country at least. I think it appeals most to over 25s, as opposed to other sitcoms like 'Friends'. But of course, there are still a lot of young fans.

Actually, I got into completely by accident. In 1997, 'Frasier' used to be on on Fridays nights at 10pm, after 'Friends' and then something else. Either 'Cybil', 'Ellen' or 'Spin City' I think, depending on the time of year. I watched all that stuff, but tended to switch off my TV by ten, until one night when I was busy doing something else and just left it on by accident.

Then I heard Daphne's voice and was just totally astonished to hear a Northern English accent on a US sitcom, so started paying attention. Then I totally fell in love with Niles, and the rest is history!

Where do you live at the moment? We almost have something else in common - my Mum's not American, but she is South American! :D

You poor thing.

Ok, this has nothing to do with "Family Ties" or "Frasier" (well kinda) - today I taped an episode of "Caroline in the City" with David Hyde Pierce playing an eccentric CAT lover/IRS man....That was a very FUNNY episode!

"Would you like to step inside for a drink?" - (Caroline's friend)

"I bet you have milk." - Jimmy (DHP)

Then there was this other thing he did - he started rubbing his face on her shoulder...

"What are you doing?" -Caroline's friend

"I'm marking you." - Jimmy (DHP)

http://img11.photobucket.com/albums/v34/TroyandLindseyFan/killingme.gif

Let's see, he had a song and dance number at the end when he was auditioning to be in "CATS" -

I just loved it!

They were in the first episode, and David Hyde Pierce guest starred in the first episode of season 2. He went from Dr. Niles Crane, noted psychiatrist, to Jimmy, the IRS guy!:p

I live in a small town called Huntingdon. It's about 20 miles from Cambridge. I do know a couple of people my age who like "Frasier", but I don't think they're regular viewers.

By the way, I've heard that Channel 4 is going to be screening the final two episodes of Frasier on New Year's Eve - I think they may also be showing "Analysing the Laughter" as well. I'll make plans to watch it.

Oh, and thank you everybody else for the welcomes - I'll definitely drop by the "Cheers" board! It'll be probably be just as fun as dropping by the "Cheers" bar!

Another plus for Florida (in my opnion, anyway) is that Barry and Robin Gibb from the Bee Gees both have homes there. Indeed, Barry now spends a lot of his time in Miami, although Robin's been in England for a long time now.
