Excellent idea! I'm still learning how to use all my new tools. I was away on a road trip all day and only found out I was a moderator a few minuts ago.

I hope you stick around awhile. DianeChambers87 left me high and dry. lol

Did DianeChambers87 say she's not returning to the boards? What does TJ do about moderators who disappear? You should have somebody else to help you out with the Cheers board.

I haven't heard from her at all. The last I spoke to her, she was busy with school. I was sure she would return by the summer, yet, no Maria.

Oh, I meant like some sort of deal where you could get all three for a slightly lower price. I found one for seasons 1 and 3 - so I got that. Well, it still has to get here. I'll get season 2 later.

Oooh! Season 2 has "Daphne's Room" and "Adventures In Paradise 1&2!!!!!!" Love those!!!

Many memorable & funny episodes.

I'll hopefully get a job at the library next semester - then I can pay for season 2 and this other DVD set for a British sketch show called French and Saunders - it's simply brilliant!!!

If you can't catch it on BBC America and really want to give it a try, I suggest getting one of the seasons - it's only 13 dollars, I think. Of course, I intend on getting the whole thing.

We only have basic cable and dont get BBC America or HBO.... so I spend the money on DVDs rather than getting the channel.

For example.... Curb Your Enthusiasm.

We've got digital cable - over 1000 channels but the ones over 500 are pay-per-view - that stinks!

Frasier had over 500 channels, too, so I feel special!

And to set the record straight, I've talked like this...however it is I talk...long before I was hooked on Cheers. Well, I guess that doesn't make things any better. But if Niles is smart and rich and married to somebody who is incredibly sexy...then Diane is a pseudo-intellectual and...um...well this is beside the point.

By the way - I keep getting Moondance and barwars confused now that you both have Niles in your avatar. I was shocked to see multiple exclamation marks on what I thought was a post by barwars haha.

I'd say I'm a mixture of Lilith, Diane and Carla....which isn't saying much since those three are so different they cover most people on this planet.

It's from some episode in Season 11 (not sure which one) where Niles hasn't slept for days and has to deal with Maris (with her murdering her lover and all) and then just goes crazy and strips at Cafe Nervosa.

The black circles under his eyes are meant to be there.

VERY funny.

Just watched the Halloween episode where Frasier dresses up as Sigmund Freud and Niles, as Martin. Not the best episode, but there's one line in particular that I loved:

Martin: I don't want to see myself making out with Elton John.

Oh, and I made a frightening observation. I throw parties just like Frasier: there must be a plan to prevent chaotic groupings of people who just stand around and drink. Gosh, I feel sorry for my guests.

I was shocked at that too. I expected a resolution to that fight. It's a really fun episode, but the writers just seemed tired. But I'll give them some slack. Eleven years of producing excellence can really tire one out.

I agree with how Martin reacted though.
Niles acted how Martin would sound on paper.... but in real life ("Frasier real life" that is) he was the nicest guy in the world.

As for me today.... huge party out at my Uncle's for my Uncle and Cousin (not father and son) coming back from Iraq.
(even though my cousin's been back since April)

I still haven't figured out who my favorites are because I only started watching this summer. But Lucille is definitely up there.

I had a dream last night that I was writing a scene between Niles and Frasier for some theater class. Then when Kelsey and David were going to perform it, everybody loved my idea of not letting children into the theater. Only dogs and adults were allowed.

Frasier was dating a gym teacher -- but all he could see in her was his old gym teacher.
I think at one point he made him climb a rope, but Im not sure.

I've only seen about 25 episodes total of Season 4-10.

I haven't seen most of Frasier yet either. But there's a website called Goodnight Seattle that has every episode transcribed, so I have read a lot of episodes. Of course it's not as good as watching them though.

I haven't seen all the episodes either (especially in the seasons where Niles and Daphne are dating). But I don't like to read scripts for episodes I haven't seen. I'm afraid they'll ruin the punchlines for me when I actually see them.

Awesome. If you're not planning on going in order.... I HIGHLY recommend Travels With Martin on Disc 4 of Season 1.

I've watched pretty much all of these episodes, but that was a long time ago when they first aired. I'm trying to move through them slowly. So far I have watched the Pilot, "the show where lilith comes back" and "the show where diane comes back." The Pilot is sooooo much better than both of those.

I changed my status from Sam&Diane fan to just Diane fan. On Frasier, however, nothing beats Martin, Frasier and Niles.

I've NEVER been a fan of Sam&Diane, and only a few months ago did I begin to even count Diane as a favorite. Sam -- still is at the end of the list (with Backseat Becky of course)

I agree about the highlights of the episode. I also like when Frasier and Martin talk about extending the trip, and decide to drive into the morning and tell Daphne they're in Mexico! THAT wouldve been a good 2-Parter.

Also.... when Niles said "Those were awful, those family driving vacations. Dad insisting on covering as many miles as possible in a day. The two of us tiny hostages in the back seat, clutching out car sickness bags... straining to see something out of the window as the landscape whizzed by... I was thirteen before I realized cows aren't blurry!"

On the subject of the dreaded Sam&Diane couple, I should have realized I wasn't really a fan a long time ago since I never really liked "Power Play." As for my Diane obsession - it has cooled down significantly. Diane is good in small doses.

No more episodes for tonight - I promised myself.

I can't keep a promise. My father wants to watch an episode with me. I'm giving in. Just one more. I'll be gone for the weekend so I won't be able to watch any others for a while.

If you havent chosen one "Dinner at Eight" has always been a favorite.

As for Powerplay -- its always at the top of Cheers fans' lists.... but not me. Actually, its probably my least favorite of Season 2. Although.... I love Showdown Parts 1 and 2.

Nice avatar. Showdown is different from Powerplay. The latter, IMO, ignored the people at the bar too much. There was something about the structure of that episode that always bugged me - part of it has to do with how they practically left out the bar in the second act. And I never found the whole stuffed animal bit very funny. Showdown has a lot of good scenes with all of the characters. I especially like the one where Diane can't shut up for 10 seconds.

Anyway....I watched "Coffee with Niles." BAD IDEA - my dad was sleepy and, naturally, fell asleep. I love that episode though.

Coffee With Niles.... a great episode, IMO. Very "Seinfeld" IMO. But.... nothing something to show to someone when they're sleepy.... and especially not good if they're being introduced to the show for the first time. (But I take it that he's seen it before.... unless where you live is under a rock or something)

Yes, he's seen it before. Martin is his favorite. The problem with my dad is he works too much. When he comes home, he's dead tired. Oh, the other problem is that he sometimes gets Cheers mixed up with Frasier...then again he does confuse my name with my sister's...

The puppy is finally sleeping. I forgot how much work it is - taking care of a puppy. Yup :(. For the past two years I've had only a few week so summer (mostly in December when I'm down here for the holidays). The rest of the time...I do live in sweaters. Which reminds me...I need more sweaters.

I don't think I've ever watched ELR...I did try to watch Welcome to Mooseport last month and found Ray Ramono very dull - I couldn't even finish the movie.

Found it! It doesn't look too good this big, though. The pixels are way too big. I'm going to try to find a better quality, larger picture with the window and try this again.

I made some minor changes on this larger version, hoping it would look better. I also tried to get rid of the NBC logo.

Bat Mitzvah means "daughter of the commandments." Chicks become a bat mitzvah at their bat mitzvah ceremony, guys become a bar mitzvah at their bar mitzvah ceremony.
Come on, he already has to deal with the middle name "Gaylord," give the guy a break. (Even though he is kinda funny looking.)

I think he meant bar mitzvah was a nice little reference to Cheers haha. But I didn't get the klingon part.

Oh you have to do more than just kill that guy. You have to make sure he suffers first.

Isnt that the episode where Frasier asks Noel to translate his reading into hebrew, but he changes it to Klingon when Frasier makes fun of Star Trek??

I've been reviewing the season 3 episodes, and the more I watch them, the more I realize what a great character Noel is. After Bulldog, he's my favorite of the KACL staff.

The series hit an ultimate low when "Niles' heart hurts"
not that it was bad, just a lowpoint for such a good series

I just don't know if that it was too sad for a show like Frasier or it didn't exactly fit into the series .

What does everyone else think ?

Both of those are true. If the plot is too sad and serious, it doesn't fit a series like Frasier.

I liked it, actually - but then again, I was raised on watching soaps! Those can really rip out your heart... sometimes drama is good for a sitcom:) JMO! It just goes to show how far these actors can stretch their acting capabilities!

To me, it was a way of strengthening Niles and Daphne's relationship to a new level:)
