View Full Version : Great Shows, But Only In Small Doses
barwars 07-17-2004, 02:04 PM What shows do you like, but wouldnt want to watch a marathon of??
For me....
I Love Lucy
and
Sanford & Son
They're both GREAT shows, but they use lots of the same jokes/storylines in their episodes. And watching anymore than 2 episodes in a row (even that's stretching it) makes them less funny.
spunkygirl 07-17-2004, 02:46 PM Cheers, I like it, but in small doses, same with Everybody Loves Raymond, and Will and Grace
factsoflife 07-17-2004, 03:04 PM Are you INSANE? I LOVE LUCY DOES NOT use the same jokes in every episode.

As a fan of the series, I cant honestly say that it isnt repetitive.
I mean, its hilarious -- but its not a show I would want to watch a marathon of.
It's much more appreciated when seen in small doses.
One, maybe 2, episodes at a time.

Me too, I am a fan of ILL, but I can't watch too much of it at once. Unless I'm a diehard fan of a show, I can only tolerate shows in small doses :)
barwars 07-17-2004, 03:09 PM Another show is Gilligan's Island.
You can only watch Gilligan screw over the other castaways so many times in a row before wanting to kill him yourself.
It's great once in a while, but would never watch in a marathon.
(dont get me wrong, I have all these shows on DVD)
Adamantium 07-17-2004, 04:59 PM The Munsters - I LOVE it. However, I can't watch more than three at a time before getting bored.
The Monkees - Same as "The Munsters".
Curb Your Enthusiasm - I also Love this show. However, I can only watch 1, maybe 2 episodes at a time.
Dean Winchester 07-17-2004, 05:33 PM Charlie's Angels - I love the show, have both seasons 1 and 2 on DVD... but whereas with just about every other tv-DVD I have, I can watch one episode after another when watching a disc, I've never watched more than one CA episode in one sitting.
Ant-Lox 07-17-2004, 07:16 PM Threes company...I love the show, but too much of the yellow look of the show kills me,
EmoJoe 07-17-2004, 07:24 PM Friends
The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air
The Cosby Show
The Amanda Show
Threes Company
tvfan0101 07-17-2004, 07:55 PM I rarely ever sit down and watch more than one or two episodes of a single show at a time, so there aren't really any that I can only stand in small doses. I have watched an entire season of M*A*S*H over the course of three days and four episodes of Friends a night for weeks on end, but I still love both shows.
Classic TV Fanatic 07-18-2004, 01:27 AM Addams Family, The - I wouldn't watch this for more than two episodes worth. It's interesting to watch and all, but it just isn't one of those shows that can hold the viewer's attention for a long time.
Andy Griffith Show, The - Great show but I can only handle it in small doses at a time.
Gilligan's Island - Same as TAGS
