View Full Version : Origami Series: Octagon Box- Flowery Pinwheel
Warm & Fuzzy 07-16-2004, 11:44 AM Here's another addition to my origami series. :D
It's a octagon box formed by a body and lid with a flowery pinwheel design on the it's top. It took 16 sheets to make.

Kay Scarpetta 07-16-2004, 03:57 PM And all I can make is my feeble crane
I made my own paper, though! I opened Adobe Photoshop into a 7x7 inch image, applied a gradient, texted "I Hope You Dance" lyrics onto the paper [cranes are supposed to be for hope], printed it out, and folded it :D Then I put a coat of glaze on it to make it shiny, and hung it above my bed.
The picture came out crappy.. but it's pretty in real life. I'm so proud of myself :p
Warm & Fuzzy 07-16-2004, 04:03 PM Haha, that's great, AND you made your own paper, too! How long did it take you?
Ever heard that 1,000 cranes will grant you a wish? Well, only 999 more to go. Good luck. :D
*Pleasant Tomorrow* 07-16-2004, 04:08 PM That's awesome.

To make the paper, only a minute.. literally, lol. Just popped a gradient on it. To fold it!? Aha, another story ;) the more I do though, the easier it will probably get.
I actually have heard that... and I'm going to try and do it :D Is there any special thing I have to do with them when I eventually have 1,000? Like.. throw them off a mountain side or something?

Throw them off a mountain side? Nah, I doubt that. Just keep them, I guess, LOL! Or... what you can do is string 'em with needle/thread and hang 'em in your room.

Yup, that's what I did :D it looks so pretty above my bed.
Unfortunately, I think I only have the patience to fold a few a week
